Quaser's M52 Convertible :)

At last, im satisfied to say that i have a M52B28 powered car

Although the engine has been fitted for a few months, the car was down on power so i wasnt proud to have the M52, but it seems this was due to a crap air filter, and faulty thermostat.

Anyway - let me know what you guys think. I'll also use this thread for any issues that i have for all the niggly bits so there is a easy to find record in case some one else needs help in the future.

Stunning, you should be very proud of your work

Could i ask a couple of Qs?

What do you mean by foam sealing the rad ?
I've not heard of "invered" billies before

The arm rest looks great mate, i take it this is a LHD arm rest ?

nice work

Cheers guys

inverted billies are b8's - as used in the 325i sports and m3's

as for the rad - there are gaps around the fan and bodywork - so im guessing that the fan is not as efficient as it could be - so im going to get some foam strips between the rad and bodywork to create a kind of a seal so all the air goes through the rad.

thats the theory anyway - ive seen it on some small cars that ive worked on and going to give it a go on this.

Yep - LHD armrest - i have a RHD if anyone wants to buy it for their E46 :)

I had a cab before with b4's on h&r a - I found it too bouncy but I think that b8's give a nice controlled rude - esp noticeable on how little the car drops after going over a speed bumps - Ur not too far - come over and have a test drive if u want

I went for Boge Turbo's in the end as i couldn't afford Billies, they perform well imo

touring was being broken due to rot - it sat on the drive for a couple of years doing nowt except attracting scrap metal merchants!

I swore that I would never buy another e30 - then I spotted the cab on bay and missed my old motorsport & e36 cabs so I bought it.

Then I swore not to do any engine mods - and ended up buying a 2.7 bottom end, and everything else to convert it, but keep it as an auto.

Then someone was breaking their conversion and the m52 bits, converted it to a manual, and sold the 2.7 parts - this is the result! lol

haha i know the feeling.. half the time plans go straight out the window.

i planned only to stick a turbo on my M20 and thats now turned into a mini restoration with ACS kit, my old mille miglias up for sale to hopefully help fund new wheels and wanting to fit a full interior again as the cars got no carpets or sound deadening on the floor/trans tunnel, no parcel shelf or rear speakers and other stuff removed to shave weight previously. figure 30-40kg or so worth of sound deadening, interior and whatnot isnt going to matter once the M20 is force fed.

cars seem to rot a hell of a lot faster when theyre parked up than when theyre being used

I took this for a drive the other day, roof down, wind blowing through my hair cruising down the back streets of Hayes - took it for a longer drive it was that good. Pulls hard throughout. M52 ftw.

All that remains is for him to wash it. :D

Well you took it out for so long, you had plenty of time to get it washed, and polished, and detailed ;)
