New car, new thread.

Bought the car from Meatballs82, who bought the car from Kedge. Both of which looked after it well

Drove it home last night, everything doesnt work very well.

Thought I would make an early start on it today. Switched the wheels. Sorted the squealing belts and then the driver decided to not open anymore...

Last 2 hours trying to fix that and still no better off. Removed the actual barrel and that looks like its popped off its spring so took a barrel from a breaker, and changed the lock mech part as that didnt seem to be catching... Now it doesnt open back up.

In a proper mood with it so ive come in for half and hour to warm up as its fooking freezing outside. Gonna remove everything from another breaker and rebuild the complete lot into the touring door and that should hopefully sort the issue as I cant seem to narrow it down to anything.

Anyway, pictures of the bbs fitted and those 16" removed

Looks loads better on the BBS, can't believe you broke the door lock already! was fine yesterday :D

Were you surprised at the weight of those 5 spokes when they came off? I was!

Cheeky coont - I serviced it (everything except plugs, Dave changed them before I bought it) cambelt, water pump + antifreeze changed, drive belts changed, tracking sorted, Beast of a new battery and I even pumped the tyres up once!

Did you even spend that much on your chromie?!?!?! winkeye

I'm suprised on how easy the BBS fitted straight on... Fook knows what you was playing at when you tried to put your Alpina Reps on it Matt

@Mick - I think I'm going to do that, just need to warm up a bit first. Although a bit worried its gonna pish it down shortly.

Got a Tech 1 gear knob, steering wheel and leather handbrake gaitor and grip to add to it later too, just to spec it up a bit. :D

Hoping the cream leathers out of the 323i is the same shade as whats in it so I can swap that driver seat over too so

Should be a tech 2 wheel fitted if you want proper OEMness, leather handbrake handle is correct, dunno what could have possibly happened to them! :teehee:

It does have some interesting welding action, that's why I bought the skirts off Indy to hide what it all, don't poke the bottom of the passenger wing too hard, the tigerseal didn't have much to cling to.

Aha... I wouldnt poke it, if it was there to poke... 8O

Fooker rotted away and now there is no base to the wing and no se skirt to cover the hole up

Need to steal a wing from the Sport but fook doing that today.

Headlights are gonna be switched too, driving home last night with the lights on. Pointless

Speedo needs fixing too

:chuckle: Doesn't surprise me that it ended up falling off!

Didn't Matt put some fancy ultra bright bulbs in?

He must have fitted them just to the high beams and normal lights are awful :( I have some other smilies I can switch them with though.

Was debating about grip filling the tech 2 kit to it but dont have the skirts for a 4 door :(

Fook that, get the kit sold!

Might not help that the headlights aren't a matching pair, one smillie and one bullseye!

There is no way this thread will last, I bet it will be fragged within 2 months! :)

Wont be fragged Ferg, I have way too much scrap at the moment to keep me going for a very long time.

I am however very short tempered at the moment, trying to sort this door  Switched everything over and straight the way, it just locks into a position, and now wont shut, just opens back up with no catch :(

Gale force winds outside too and im fooking freezing. If anyone has a Touring door that works in Diamond Schwarz local to me, let me know... I'd rather just change the door at this rate

Through Lancaster mate, one of the sub companies that comes up. KGM or something like that.

The week before I tried to do the same quote and it was over £600...

I sat and tweeked the quote too so its only low millege, 3000 a year with a value of... £4000  Thats the highest it went to without going more expensive so thought I would would put. Obviously I know its not worth that much, but if I put £1000 for example they would try and give me £200... Hopefully if something happened they'd give me £1500... :D

Or, ideally, I dont bump it!

For some reason there's a large amount of zone members who are obsessed with paedophiles/paedophilia.
