how much did it cost for parts and labour?
and was it worth it? or would it had been better spent on a engine conversion

Engine conversion would have been alot cheaper but it was worth it.
Everyone does engine conversions so I thought why not do something different.
I have not had it Dyno'd yet so at present I'm not sure what kinda bhp its at. Going to try and get it done before changing the cams and have it Dyno'd once again after the cam change to see what gains i get.
With regards to cost; it was just shy of £2000 incl parts and labour.
Its instant power when you want it and accelerates well.
I have still got to put a 3.73 LSD on it; which was purchased off Andyp.

3.73diff will slow it down a fair bit on the acceleration front but make it more tolerable on the motorway. I'd have put at least a 3.9 if no 4.1's were available (which they generally aren't).
Looks good though, seen a few of these kits on E36's.
What did you have to do to the paint to get the shine back up? A few panels on my road car could do with some attention?

so how does it drive ? does it drive like a normal 318is under say 3500rpm , then the charger kicks in when you give it some like the cams did as standard in the higher rev range ? whats she like on the juice

To get the body work looking good again;
I buffed it out with G3, Polished it with Autoglym SRP and waxed it with Autoglym HD Wax.
More recently I used Autofinesse Tripple and waxed it with Auto Finesse Desire
Heres a pic after i used Auto Finesse.. not the best of pics

It drives like normal when you want it to under 3500rpm.
Since the charger has been put on I have only used V power and its not that bad on juice if you drive sensibly. I put in bout £25 V power and i did 60 miles.

I've seen those DAS kits on the US forums, they look good. Did you buy it over here or from the US and ship it over?
I take it its still running the AFM? Was there any ECU changes needed?
The red certainly looks good

That G3 stuff really does work well.

Bought the kit from here about 6 months ago. It was actually advertised on the forum but he had a very vague advert with no pics and the he listed on ebay and i got hold of him through ebay. I bought the kit off him with the cams to match the charger.
No ECU changes are required and the AFM is still on.

The car looks ace to be fair and at £2000 I think that is potentially cheaper than a "good" M52 swap. I mean yeah they can be done for under a grand but if you change gaskets, water pumps and have manifolds done correctly etc it can mount up I know mine did!
Great effort, it is nice to see something different and not councilled up either.
Be cool if you are at some shows this year, wouldn't mind a look in the flesh

Well I won't be doing any meets until April at least depending when I tax my E30 but I think the general consensus of the zone was to encourage more meets this year as last year was rubbish and everybody being unsociable. Keep your eye in the meets section dude if you are in Staffs the RAF Cosford one is coming up and Jim320i does his mini meets etc
You really should be taking that to a few meets, lovely car.

Mr Polsta when you " Give it some" it just wants to keep going going; it flys. Its a different kinda buzz but still as smooth. 1st gear runs out real quick.
its still a revvy 4 pot but when you put your foot down a new beast is unleashed.

I really need to book it for a dyno before a cam change and once after; so I know what bhp has been produced.

I think I remember reading on E36coupe that DA don't make the kit any more so they're quite hard to come by.

This is way cooler than a 24v swap and at £2000 that is a bargain. This is what I always wanted to do to my old iS but I think the kit was £4000+ new.
I've had a ride in Appletree's home made suercharged iS one it's first incarnation when it was running about 205bhp, Andyboy summed it up best, it felt more like a 3.0l engine due to the linear power delivery, I'd imagine this would be similar.
Be great if you could get to some of the meets/shows in the Midlands this year as I'd like to see this in the flesh

Reminds me of mine, about 10 years ago

without the supercharger tho
Paintwork looks spot on too. I have some of that G3 too and its good sh1t, if used properly
