Decided to do a proper build thread on my turd, it gets a bit of a ripping and with whats been done and the plans over winter it deserves a thread. For those who dont know Il start off with my first mindset and e30 I owned

Back in 2010 when I was 17 I decided to get myself a car, having been right into the euro scene id always wanted a mk1 or 2 jetta, mk4s ( boras ) were too expensive and golfs are common as muck. Insurance was way too expensive. I then remembered watching a jeremy clarkson episode when i was around 8 where he had all the M cars on the isle of man, I fell inlove with the super sharky square shapes and rear wheel drive madness. I was surprised when I got insurance quotes on a 520i it was under 1000 pounds ( the cheapest so far ) having searched for e28s i got nowhere. I then heard about a friend of a friend selling an e30, a " 325i sport " youl see why its in quotations in a minute or so.
Anyway one thing lead to another and I stupidly bought the bucket of shit, here it is at homestead.
Image

It was on the zone that I was informed it wasnt a 325i sport but actually a facelift poverty-ish spec 320i which had been cloned by the guy i bought it off. Whats worse is I had to sell my downhill bike to afford the fucking thing

Image

Anyway I decided to break it. When Id been at a friends in Glasgow Id spotted one his fleet which instantly made me think " I want that car ". So a month or so on I bought it for 700 pounds.
It had very very little rust, ran fine and didnt have many issues.

Image

Image
Image

It was a mock 6 banger with ALOT of mods. 51mm struts, Black sport headliner, 6 pot plasma dials OBC. Everything bar the rear drums ( yes...I know ) would make you think it was a 6 pot and I was very pleased......until it blew up 10 miles from my house

It snapped a cam finger and shattered a piston into SOOO many pieces

Image

Image

Luckily I still had the 2 litre engine out the clone.....
So in it went with the help of my dad and a neighbour, we didnt have an engine crane so we made a couple ghetto as hell redneck style ones and it worked!
My dad and david
Image
Image
As you can see it was still sitting on those gorgeous wheels that came on the clone, so i got new tyres for my borbets for my birthday and got them on ASAP with 5mm spacers front and rear.
Image
Image
Image

Next up I decided to paint the engine and bay ( The engine bay thread I started is on hold i have NOT abandoned it )
It went from this
Image
to this
Image

This will be complimented with a german flag stripe or will be swapped for a wood grain rocker, I shall see.
The next thing my dad and I did was change the brakes and pipes so the car would stop, the brakes were atrocious. I also painted the IS lip ( which I later sold to tylerT ) and put on eyebrows from daryl.
Image

I then decided to get to work on my gritty interior - I started by selling ( BoomerM ( richard ) I hope you know I regret selling it :P ) my nardi steering wheel and replacing it with an OMP rep which i love.

Image

Those disgusting seats had to go....I recently found a fellow zoner who I bought IS check off and a DTM exhaust pipe to replace the shit one I had on. Unfortunately due to savage leaking window seals I had to remove the carpet however they have been fixed and im not on the hunt for another carpet. The stereo was also installed

Image
Image

Dont yet have a picture of the DTM but il get to it.

I fixed my plasmas and interior lights after fucking around with fuses
Image
Image

I also tinted my rear side windows ( need to get more tint and do them all properly ) It looks a bit council limo

Image

Stereo stuff and a video of it working...
2x 6.5 alpine shelf speakers 2x 5.25 kenwood footwells and a vibe slick 12" sub running off a 400w slick amp ( i need another one ASAP ) the head unit is some frailer.
Id like to thank rav and polsta for the stereo advice

Image
Image

heres another video of me giving it a bit of nuts with the exhaust of whilst changing it....it had to be done

Latest little mod is a matching gear gator, handbrake one to come

Image

I also took delivery of an Mtech 2 kit rear bumper and sideskirts, a massive thank you to loon676 ( andy ) who collected and delivered these for me when he bought my old shell, a true credit to the zone
Im pairing this with a fibertrash front bumper i got off sskoda for a steal.

Image
Image

So whats next then? Well the plan is to sort the cars suspension out, it looks foul....so its going on coilovers and will be sorted. It will be getting new bushes and disked rear trailing arms, aswell as braided hoses. It will be getting a new carpet too...one thats been dyed black.

The rocker cover will be woodgrain wrapped and possibly silicone hoses. ( until next winter when it gets M50ed and supercharged ) .

I will also be doing something with the rear lights but thats a surprise, i bought HIDS off Dweller with will be fitted and i think il buy some smoked crosshair units off rav.

This month the car will be painted and tech 2ed, some of you know what colour its going, those who dont...tough. I might upload a photoshop mock up hammoj did but il see.

As the car sits now....

Couldn't you have just used a different instructor for the test if you'd already booked it?

Do wish my rear arches looked as good as yours.
Also you've just reminded me I've got a full black headlining in my shed waiting to fit, totally forgot about buying that!
Progress seems to be going well so good luck with the rest :) Borbet A's though, oh Borbet A's... :(

If you just "think" like an Italian and "drive" like an Italian then you'll be fine I drove down to Venice across the mountains and I found it ok and had no problems but then again I fit right in to that way of thinking.
Oh yeah wait shit, their cities are INSANE. mopeds on the pavements and stuff

So last night we started to move the car from its little hut into the gym hall ( workshop ) to start prep work....my last e30 with its 7j wheels fitted in a treat so i thought this one would. My friend Will kept saying this one would be tight with the 9js but like retards we brushed off his comments.....turns out his perception is alot sharper than ours....

With a lot of fucking around and 2 steel wheels we finally got the bastard in.....
Today im starting remove the parts needed remove, weld the exhaust, fix a couple little holes and then wash and mask

Is this your take on the Christmas nativity play? It looks like a scene reminiscent of Baby Jesus in the manger.

Was Frankincense and Myrrh involved, in any way in the proceedings?

Hey Verd! Seen and enjoyed the vids. Was that one of your mixes being played on your sound system?... Looking forward to seeing the paint job, once it's done. I think your car will look the nuts.

By the sound of the passing cars, you seem to live on quite a fast road..! :D

Thanks man :) Naa wasnt one of mine, thats a track called warhead by dj krust. Its ridiculous, played it at a party and made a guy throw up

The road near my house is like a mile long straight. My friends had 179 out his R6 along it. Neighbours friend boasts by the time he pulls out the neighbours road ( 100 yards away ) by the time he gets to our house his R1s at 100....luckily its a very quiet road so its not too dangerous leaving the driveway
