My First E30

So, here it is...

I had a Golf MK6 GT, which I loved... Drives really well, but the problem was, I work in London and over time, it was just losing money being sat at home, rather than losing money because I was driving it!

I bought this... My first E30 ever! It's a 325i SE Auto. The bodywork has no bumps at all and there's only a minor amount of rust that I need to look into! High mileage, it's done almost 140,000, but in all fairness it's had a lot of work done to it! New suspension, new radiator, new steering rack and a M Sports Exhaust on it! This baby purrs like a lion! I paid £1400 (so much car for the money) for it and it's had one lady owner from new for 21 years & 1 other owner for 1 year, so I'm the 3rd owner!

So far, I've used this forum, to fix bits and bobs which would cost £100's from BMW, by making purchases from Maplin and eBay!

Other stuff I couldn't get away with was a 2 new badges are they're knackered and a new key as the one I have is bent and broken (£90)! I'm also getting an alarm and imobiliser fitted for £300!

As the project runs, I need silly things like new mats, German plates, BBS wheels, M tech steering wheels, new seats, etc.

I can't believe at how enthusiastic I've become and it's been less than a week!

What do you think??

Welcome to the Zone. Tidy looking E30. A nice 2 door 325i is becoming a rare beast.

Thanks Guys...

I want to keep it in this condition! I like how the SE looks, I'm only going to upgrade it to what were the stock upgrades at the time of purchase... Such as BBS and seats! i'm going to squeeze in a M Sports steering wheel as they do look a lot nicer than the square 4 horn button ones

Looks very tidy

A slight drop and some 15" BBS will set that off nicely, maybe some shadow line trim instead of the chrome as well 8)

And 140k isn't high miles for the age of car, and definitely not for a 325i if its been looked after - its almost run in at that mileage :)

Rav is a user on here that DIY bodges Bosch lights with twigs and nettles to make them look smoked...

But he does do a very good quality job to be honest  Im sure he will be along shortly with some picture examples.

I need to take my foot off the gas on the upgrades for now...

I've restored it so it's in a nice usable condition... I've got a whole list of things to do, but it requires spending at least another £1500 on it :x
