1990 Zinnobar Red Non Sunroof -Heckblende Fitted and Paint

Just had my next e30 deliverd this morning, its a 320i shell with a b25 lump complete with no sunroof.

The car itself is in really good nick, its had a full respray a few years back so the paint is really shiney and not the usually faded heap of shit.

its had the footwell jacking pads welded up to a high standard other than that its fairly original, some rust coming through on a lower arch on the passangers side.

Needs alot of time with bits of trim etc as alot of trim has been off and put back on half heartedly, the pop outs have been robbed and the normal windows put back in, again needs finishing off. clips from front grills missing etc, all just simple jobs

Car even comes with 6 month tax and 3 weeks MOT.

Bad part is it needs a clutch master cylinder and sump, both of which i have. Needs a new drivers seat too as its had the fatty treatment.

Plans are to remove the smoked lights, fit chrome kidney grill and black door handles, and fit some 15" bbs, i have a perfect set which were refurbished a couple of years back, should set it off a treat. Also want to paint the lower half of the rear valance black like its suppose to be.

Other than that i think its a good buy :D

good purchase alex ,you'll need to find out why the windows only work with the doors open :?
when you find out what's needed here then the heater blower will probs come back on again and whatever else isn't working inside the car,it'll all be linked to one problem.

or at least i'd like to hope so .

It Is one problem and it's linked to the k7 or k1 (can't remember) unloaded relay and a wire to the starter motor.

Check out the wiring diagrams in the links section

if its had an engine change I would check the wiring at the starter first. looks a decent car though well worth the money

Thanks for comments, not worried about the wiring just yet, need to spend a fortune on small clips and things at bmw as so much of the trim is missing or not clipped on properly all over the car :( things like this really annoy me

The wheels are some 14" replica bbs things, they're coming off possibly tomorrow have a set of almost perfect 15" bbs had the refurbished 3 years ago.

fitted a new sump with new gasket today, was fiddly removing the old sump gasket but some small blades made it easy work, used very small amount of gasket paste too just to be on the safe side.

Fitted a brand new mushroom gear knob with tri stripe and new gear gator today aswell, cost about £15 for the lot posted from bmminiparts, i know its wrong but i love it :D

the black grill has been took off aswell looks millions better

Got some Genuine E30 Style 10's for the turd, they're in pretty good nick, with 4 good tyres. Some people may not like them, but i like to be different and think they look good.

I also fitted some pop outs back in again.

after removing the number plate surround to fit my heckblend i found some surface rust which i ground down till it was shiney again and painted with zinc primer, will get some zinnorbar red on there before i put the heckblende in properly, i also need 2 new number plate lights as both were cracked.

Fuel tank breather, comes to an end under the bonnet anyway, unless there is a carbon cannister fitted which is very unlikely

Re:

Ah right, is it not fuel return line ?

Will it fail the MOT ?

Re:

Posted: Tue Oct 09, 2012 8:23 pm
by Kedge
The fuel feed and return pipes are the two thicker ones to the right and run in the same clips as the brake pipe.

MOT man might not like it, not sure. If I was you I'd cut it back at the tank end and remove everthing from there forward and then just fit a short bit of rubber pipe by the tank to vent there, this is how it is set up on the prefacelift cars.

Sounds like a plan, least its nothing important

Is that just the breather pipe to the front of the car ?

They're about £20 from BMW IIRC

Alex is that not the breather pipe to the fuel tank? Can't really tell for sure from the picture, is it snapped or missing altogether?

This is a nice turd! loving the Tech1 spoiler as well. Brilliantrot?

Have you done a fair search for rust?

All in all liking it so far and the soap for interior good work, looking pretty mint inside!
