I hope the OP comes back and does not let his first experience of the team taint his views.

I hope he comes back too, its got all the hallmarks of a proper restoration.....

For me, Resto's like these are always thought of as an education of some sort...

Typical zone welcoming.... (the greatest of all time, being the one that Bonkers got when he insinuated that he just took delivery of TWO delivery miles Sport Evo M3's, a delivery miles 190E Evo2 and a delivery miles RS200!)..... that will never be beaten...

Hi guys thanks for all your great comments sorry for not been on in the last couple of days there will be more pics hopefully this weekend all the wiring looms have been stripped out of the car everything is out of the engine bay all going well i am expecting to have the car done in 3-4 months (taxed and m.o.t) The Engine is off up North to my brother he is a mechanic and his task is to overhaul the engine i suspect it is going to be a top end rebuild valve stem's etc etc as the bottom end's are bullet proof and will be as good as new.
All the running gear is coming off and then taken back and powder coated new shocks suspension arms etc will be replaced,

And any input you guys have regarding uprated suspension bushes regarding ride/comfort would be gratefully received as i don't want the car to be a harsh ride

Cheers Raj

Hi there Raj, as I said before the thread clean, well done for choosing the right car to save. and the work looks great so far. I too am glad you have returned.

As for suspension, go with the standard metalastic bushes, ECP do OEM quality with a few quid saving. Important ones to do, if they have seen better days, are the rear beam ones, they are a pain to do but can transform a car. If you want to uprate, look for the bush void fillers from DanThe on here. You can fit the M3 lollypops to the front wishbones to sharpen up the front too, the car will need to be retracked though, again these are metalastic. The rest I would just fit standard.

There is no way the donor shell was a Tech II, unless the kit was glued on! winkeye

Rebuilding a typically facked Sport with a better 4 pot shell. Way to go, and it'll be a nice end result. The alternative is that the car gets broken and its gone forever.

My 'text speak' was 'U R' Quattro.
