'92 E30 M3 DTM - Reborn

A short film by Josh Purcell about the first outing of the Emanuele Pirro '92 E30 M3 DTM.

Conrad Timms spent 3 years rebuilding the Team Bigazzi 'Warsteiner' '92 E30 M3 DTM back in Auckland, New Zealand.

This film is its first race in over 13 years at the New Zealand Festival of Motor Racing. Other cars featuring in this race are the likes of Peter Brock E30 M3, B&H E30 M3, Zakspeed Ford Escourt and many others.

Yeah was pretty much a case of fabricating a lot of things myself .. its not exactly strictly a road car anymore. More race car in road car trim.

So things have cost alot more than first thought, mid 5 figures etc.

But pretty much there now

Just got in from work, was torn between putting on drum n bass or this video. Turns out this video begins with drum n bass

Conrad has just confirm his friend has now purchased its sister car, the 92 Steve Soper M3 DTM. It will be going through the same treatment.

Cool video! Cant believe they squeezed 350bhp from that little 2.5 4 pot. Nice to see these cars being restored too!

Some of the DTM cars are tweaked to 380.. The rebuild time on them however is after every race. Not too wise to do that these days seeing as parts are quite rare. This motor only really has a life of 5000ks before rebuild.
