i picked up an old E30 316i as a temporary car until i have saved enough for my 320/325 E30. She's been abused and a bit neglected so i decided to give her a bit of a resto to get her away from chav J-Euro wrongness and back to OE+ where the style seems to be at.

this seems worthwhile as she's only covered 93k and has a nearly full history and will aid to selling her once my 6cyl arrives ;)

How she looked when i got her
Image

first thing to sort was the ruined engine bay
Image

bye bye cone filter and split intake bellow, and i sourced a throttle body linkage cover
Image

next to go were the Rota Grids which just didn't look right with the E30's classic lines, so i found a set of cheap Borbet A wheels in need of a refurb, test fit...
Image

after hand polishing most of the pitting out of the rims a respray in bright silver followed
Image

look as good as new
Image

the Borbet A's suit the lines of the E30 so well,
Image

next was a strange looking coilover kit
Image

the E30 had poverty spec grey plastic bumpers when i got it so i decided to spray the front and rear bumpers and the wing mirrors BMW Schwartz to bring the overall look of the car up a bit
Image

Image

Image

a full t-cut, colour restore, super resin polish, bumper gel and a coat of wax followed to brighten her paintwork and we took her out for a few pics

plans to follow: the rubbish no. plates, the chav exhaust and rubbish spray tinted tailights are next to come off, parts should be here early next week, pics will follow

Great turnaround mate. I like my BBS's but your wheels do tie in with the overall shape and the colour of the car..
