I've admired your car each time I've been through at Steve's gaff, so many unique parts on the car and a unique car too. Full marks for sticking with it as I know you have had some real tough times with it

Probably about time the story continued......
I now own the car and it's still with Steve for finishing. It needs a centre exhaust section made, a water pump fitting, a set of front calipers, the engine loom fitted on and a service and MoT to get it on the road.
The car will be ready for spring and I plan to be taking her around the larger shows down south and in Scotland.
I have made contact with Hartge and they are giving me nothing. Given the first owner was Hartge GmBH and the second was the company owner's brother, I think this was the first one they ever made.

It was just lucky timing I managed to get my hands on it, people had tried to buy it previously and had no success.
It's my midlife crisis car.

this car sat on a mates drive down here for 4-6 months after it came down for a clutch job and ian never paid the guy who did so it stayed on the drive.this amount of time. He was from Bracknell up the road from me. I remember for some reason he moved up the north to Redditch iirc
i took these pics of it at Gaydon 2004

/\ you can see the duck tape on the front wing! it was no prize then but a hell of a car.
I'm sure ian had an h26 2dr later on also and numerous 325i sports along the way too

It's not a workshop you've got it's a Fooking retirement home.

Ian had a few Tech 1 sports and he fragged the green H26,
The H35 has been to hell and back more than once, the last ten years has been an epic journey of bodges/garages that failed to do work and lost parts..it was even repossessed by a landlord of one of the garages that went bust
I took it on 2 years ago Hoping i could resurrect it to former glory, sadly it arrived in boxes with everything un-labelled and many custom parts...it's a major jigsaw puzzle with nothing but a few photo's to help out,
last April Ian decided to sell it so he could move on in life and buy a house, I was left with a half built car and the task of finding a new owner..
I called Colin knowing he was the guy to own and respect it.. his response was .. I have to have it !!
I'm glad I made that call
so far myself and Colin have slowly gathered the parts needed and I just need time to put it together .. the day it fires up and drives after all this time will be simply awesome

I was tempted with this car but the fact of the missing parts and the engine sat on a crate left me somewhat concerned for its future for the money being asked.
The car could do with a good paint job to bring it up to top condition, another factor that went against it sadly.
Hope it comes back to life with minimal effort and problems.

We're planning to blitz it when the exhaust and brakes arrive, hopefully next week.
On that note, the FAO section seems to have gone and I need to order up the brakes from Keri-wms urgently. Anyone got a number for him ?

why aren't you keeping the OE brakes? i expect its a similar system to the B6 3.5's and a big 296mm disc with W124 merc calipers
