Looks lovely

My only worry is that by the time your daughter is old enough to drive the insurance will have risen even more (if that's possible) and it will cost in excess of twelvety million pounds for a years insurance for young e30 drivers

Shouldn't be too bad on a 316 surely.

When i was 17 i had a whopping 1.1 reno 5, all 75quids worth, it cost me £1200 third party, fire and feck all.
Girly insurance is cheap

Insurance is a sore topic for us youngens.
But that is a cool first car for a 15 year old girl!
My 24 (nearly 25) year old mate is paying £1,200 on a punto 1.1 with 3 years ncb and no points

And me in a 2.6 v6 merc at the spritely age of 23, pay just over £500 a year with no points and 6 years ncb

Big motors FTW!

THIS! maybe even some 15" BBS and a subtle drop, too. If going all out, a natur sport interior would look lovely with that colour.
Superb colour, girly without being too girly as well.
Wish my dad were that cool like.

Hope E30's are still viewed as 'cool' by the young lady in two years time!
If she starts to save up her paper-round money now, she'll be able to afford the first year's insurance.
Lovely looking motor,BTW,well found.

God I do love that colour , I think it suits the lines of the e30 better than most colours.
Nice looking example too! I think any new driver should be made to learn in a RWD car , as you have alot more respect for turning and using the throttle. I still remember the first time I spun an e30 about 8-9 years ago on a wet roundabout , never made that mistake again.

Seems a shame to sell it on just due to the insurance? Have you tried to get a 'mock' quote based on her details but being 17 now and having just got her license so to speak... Do some quote and just see what happens, you can do it all online... Obviously insurance prices my go up and down over the next 2 years, but it might give you a rough idea of what she might be paying, or as you as the main driver etc...
Would be a shame to sell it on already, has she also said sell it on or does she now hate you?

Gutted for you and your daughter, smart car really! I'd of had it off you if I had the spare money. It should go quite easily but its hard to put a price on this kind of car. Rear head rests and electric windows, cheap winter smoker for the e30 enthusiast... yet on the other side its only a 316 and not so interesting (two different kind of opinions). My opinion is that i like it and would've considered buying for the winter if i had money! But its got to be worth a tad more than £250 adit lol

you should be ok on insurance for that, seeing as shes a girl!!!
my girlfriend is 17 and costs her 1300 fully comp on a golf gti!!!
try admiral, that was after the price increase too.
If you were trying to insure a 17 year old lad it would be a different story, well to be fair you would have to fork out about 5k

this is exactly what i wanted for my 1st car but my dad made me buy a e36 instead in 2007- come 2008 (18 years old) i bought an e30 325i Tech 2 i paid £2800 for a year as named driver but it is the bigger engine,
now my little brother is turning 17 and he wants one too 316 e30 or even a e21
bless children with good taste in cars and for insurance companies they all a big joke dont let young people enjoy cars a guy my age to have anycar is a luxory!!
