cheers for the welcome,,,
Definatly go for it, I ponderd for ages n missed out on a few. Iv worked on most Bmers 1998 upwards n they cn be a pain to work on

I have to say that these beasts are a joy to spend time fixing. A cpl of spanners, sockets n a hammer n ur pritty much tooled up.
at the moment looks arnt really my aim . I wnt a solid purrr from her heart n a solid stance n then i cn worry about makin her evil.

The one I'm looking to buy isn't a beasty 325 but a teeny weeny 316i auto.
After having sold my iS which was a rotten lump of crap, I'm hesitant to buy into another trap of rotten turdness.
BUT, when I went to view the car, it was really really nice, arches fine, battery tray fine, engine bay all straight. Slight valence rust. Interior is fine, and it drove pretty smoothly for the few metres i drove it.
Slight problems with the sunroof and central locking, but I'm really really tempted to buy it and keep it for some time.
Totally original, hasn't even got a stereo! Got the original BMW blanking panel and the running in sticker installed and original dealer plates!!

You've got £200 quids worth of wheels on it and approx £100 quid at the bridge so I'd say you got a bargain.
Plus its a two five so nice one! Keep the pics coming and welcome to the e30 zone

cheers guys.
Today adjusted the clearances on the valve train, cylinder 6 was 0.45 insted of 0.25

hopefully now the anoying tap should disapear. was going to replaise the tappets but desided against it until I deside on the turbo and cam setup when the block and head will get a full rebuild.
Off to pick up some high temp paint for the manifold and rocker cover, contemplaiting boring black but might detail it in red. unsure as yet, I want her to have an eliment of evil in her final look. will post some picks once its done.
whilst messin underneath i litteraly tapped a brake line and got a crotch coverd in brake fluid.
yet another job to add to the quickly expanding list of things to do.

thought id sare the pictures of the manifold and rocker cover painted up, went for a mattish look, they need to cure in the oven for an hour before they can handle too much man handling. gave them a refit to see what it looked like.
Might do some detailing later, cant be fussed now.
Manifold
rocker cover
rocker cover test look, Getting some new shiney nits tomorow.
Manifold test.
Unfortunatley the light wasnt great and they look alot grayer in the photos
Also does anyone know where I can get a throtle body to manifold gasket?
Hope you like, Any sujestions welcome.

went to bedford autodrome a few months back and forgot to upload the pics, shes pritty much as was appart from new polly bushes, funds are way too low to properly start the project, been collecting bits and bobs but wanted a benchmark as is to work from. main issues found, terrible roll, way too much lift in the faster corners. but all in all she kept up to what i threw at her.
Project plan
strip,
abs delete,
one way adjustable custom shocks designed in partnership with a friend who has access to parts,
sort out potentiometers, g meters and all other data logging
fabricate the cage I designed,
fit seats,
wilwoods,
then going to toy with different rim sizes with the g meters to pick what size i'm going to run.
rear diffuser and front dam, yet to designed in CFD package
in july full engine and gearbox strip + lightening.

Looks a lovely car for the money, nice find.
May be an obvious point, but your front tyre pressures look quite high in that photo, unless that corners unweighted?

yeh its on a left hairpin, the roll is unreal, springs are way too soft and I was throwing it around alot, wasn't too fussed as it cost so little, a fluids n filter and a small head clean is all its had and it lasted all day with no temp issues. it was many to test it to see wether it was worth chucking the money at. i have a small sim package and im measuring all my data so I can get the wheel loads and speck the springs acording to the weight when its stripped.
cheers.

did you get any history with the car Anton? i think that's a Portsmouth registration

I picked it up in southampton, the guy had it for a few years, got sick of paying garages who were ripping him off so started trying to do it himself, such as fitting a new radiator. he didn't blead it properly so it was overheating. I figured this out n thats why it was so cheap. I have history for about the past 10 years.
