I have helped a good friend look after this car for the last twenty years and he has left it to me to carry on looking after it which I shall take great pride in doing

Yeah I will be looking for BBS alloys, the spot fogs he fitted are wired up to sidelights as angel eyes as well, I might change them but at the moment as is it's sentimental value rules over original spec for now

Am I reading too much into your post or did your good friend pass away and leave you the car?

yes an unfortunate way to get it, he has had cancer over a year, he said before he went that as I had spent twenty years keeping it going that he wanted me to spend some time in it bless him.
I have known him for 32 years

You were obviously a worthy friend. Best of luck with it.
I'm pretty sure I've seen the car somewhere and I'm around South London a bit so might have seen it.

You may well have 210000 on the clock and most of them in the South East & Kent area

Wow a similar mileage to my green touring. If I see you around I'll give you a wave.

Had a result with the headling that was sagging, all prepared to glue it and our parts guy checked the price only to find our other branch had one in stock, incorrectly ordered and stuck with it for five years they were only to keen to get rid of it, so I nabbed it at the written off price of £70
Just a shame the sunroof panel sticks out like a filthy sore thumb now and is no longer available, I'll see if any local trimmers can do a cloth match and recover it.

Gave the old beast it's first polish in a while Saturday
Then today fitted the rear wheel bearings, rear backplates, handbrake shoes with pads & discs all round, bled the brakes and swapped the summer tyres on to it.
They were a bit knackered
It's certainly drives a bit better now.

Not much of a touring man but that looks nice, roofrack sort of suits it too.

Another awsome Touring.
That you have it under such circumstances is a challenge to keep it alive. but I agree with the suggestion, 15" BBS and the original fogs are an unbeatable combination.
Am I alone in thinking we Touring owners ought to retain a low profile - otherwise prices will go through the roof.

Changed over the rear seats after getting them *re covered* with the cloth from a saloon interior I got.
Had the headrests put in as well
Since then the front wheelbearing has been changed and an Inspection 2 done as well.
** Harrison Trimming made a great job on the seats Telephone: O1322 662 115

I second that.
A final tweak:
Check if the front appron has let go of the clips holding in at the top. The appron seems to be sagging a bit. It might need new clips.
But other than that it's a very well maintained car.

The sport touring interior in mine was in pretty good nick but having seen the other interior, there's no doubt mine will be up for sale soon!
