Well I think the time has come to do a bit of a build thread,

After the demise of my old E30 :(

I ended up buying this Tourer last year..
Image

Image

Thought it looked a bit dull and drab, so fitted my wheels and stuck a Tech II body kit on.

starting to look a bit better
Image

Image

Next up was the engine, I had the M20 2.7 lying about so I thought it would be rude not too :)

So out came the 2.5
Image

Image

And I had the 2.7 ready to drop straight in.

And there she was sitting in the bay..

Image

Image

What an Awesome engine that 2.7 was, sadly I got board of it and wanted more!!!!
so out it came, and it made it's way in to here..

Image

Image

And with the 2.7 out of the way, it made room for the M52 2.8

So the spec list as it stands..
It's a 325i with an M52 2.8 engine
M50 2.5 inlet manifold
318is gearbox
lightened flywheel
3:64 LSD
CDA induction kit
GAZ front and rear adjustable shocks
60/40 spax springs
rouge engineering rear top mounts with reinforcement plates
front custom alloy top mounts
solid steering linkage
manual steering rack
Custom down pipes and a 3" straight through stainless exhaust

Oh yeah Carbon fibre bonnet
Image

Image

winkeye

So left to do....
M3 front wishbone bushes,
A set of cams,
remap,

fit the brakes
Brembo 4 pots with 312mm discs
Image

fit the 16" Azev K alloys
Fronts are 7 and a half J, rears are 9J

Image

shot without the centre caps...
Image

And the final thing to do is drill and tap the inlet manifold for this................

Image

mmmmm raw carbon weave 15lb nitrous bottle,
this engine will also be running a 180 bhp shot via direct port.

Wonder how long before I get bored of this engine and go for the M3 lump :D

Cheers lads

Hope this engine loves the gas like the 2,7 did,
that thing, just wanted more and more, total animal!!

But this thing is far from finished, it's got a few teething problems,

It wouldn't be an E30 without them tho :P

I'll keep this updated during the process...

I'd say the Brembo's were gonna be tight with those wheels.. 8O

I had to sell on those wheels as the Azev's just needed a massive spacer for them to fit :(
and with my style of driving they were a :nono:

But the clearance is fine with the 17" "Motorsport Rep Things" i'v got on at the mo,
I had about 1mm clearance from the rear of the wheel to the caliper,
so i used a 5mm spacer, as i know things like to expand under heat,

I am on the look out for another set of 16's but tbh im sort of limited to what will fit

I'll take a couple this afternoon for you mate,
