Hey everybody! I moved to Manchester from Estonia recently. I'd like to show you a story of my '88 E30 cabrio.
I've owned three E30 before I got myself this cabrio.
I bought it from Germany at 2006,
it was stock 325 (125kw ) pre-facelift then, only the paintjob and lowering(60/40) were done in Germany. Thats how it looked then with 16" Dezent wheels, soft top is manual, color code is from Porsche RS (Maritim blue)

I got the 2,7 AC Schnitzer(S3) engine + ECU(with Schnitzer chip) from my frend by chance.(he got it from Denmark years ago). The engine is in very good condition and periodically maintained.
After all that the upgrade started..

M20B27 154kw(210bhp) - AC Schnitzer
stainless steel exhaust header - Sebring
racing air filter
3.91 LSD differ
short shift gears(manual)
strutbar
front got facelift bumper and IS lip and new headlights from Depo.
17" BSA wheels
M Tech steering wheel
chrome tacho rings

I've used it in a drag race few times, best time so far is 14.8 per 1/4 mile, which is not bad for cabrio(it has 200kg more weight than coupe)

2008 I went to Australia for 2 years, so the cabrio was just staying in a barn then.
2010 When I got back from oz I had to dig it out :D

Final tuning has been made in october 2010:
rear facelift bumper + custom spoiler
sideskirts from E30 touring
Brock B1 wheels 17"x10" and 17x8,5

Thats how it's still staying in Estonia, under the cover.

...so thats the short story of my car so far..I'm planning to bring it to UK soon, hopefully it will be here in the begining of summer!

:)

I was a bit worried about the middle set of wheels but the new ones are much better! :)

Were the side skirts much hassle to fit?

wasn't so much trouble...bottom is sitting on original clamps, top is glued,
length is same (on every e30, if I'm not wrong). :)

would be great to take part of this comp, but can't because most of the urban photos are taken by proffessional photographer not by me :(

thanks..well it sanked a bit yeah with these 2 years :D
thats why I want to bring it over here...don't want to see it just staying there anymore..I've put lots of money and my free time to this car so it's kind of hard to think that I can't use it now. I've never used it in winter..it's been only a summer car...so now it's time to wake it up again.
Been thinking of taking a ferry from Estonia to Sweden and then drive it to Holland and over there ferry to England. Other option is to drive it through Europe, but I've done it three times allready with several cars and road conditions from Estonia till Germany is not so good. Cause the car is so low it's gonna be nightmare. And I can't find any ferry routes form Norway to Newcastle anymore...I know Top Gear guys used it once.
When I bought it from Germany, I damaged the engine bottom in Lithuania(because of the road conditions)..luckyly the crack wasn't so big so I toped oil up in every gas station and made it to Estonia.
But I'm doing my best to bring it over here and will keep you informed :)

Thanks for inviting mate :) Lots of nice cars and good information in this forum..

Does enyone know what's the best alarm for cabrio and how much it could cost in UK(with fitting)?
Can some cabrio owners tell me, how these alarms work?
And how do you park your soft tops over night?
I live in Manchester and it's not really safe to keep a soft top car parked in front of the house at night. At a moment I'm keeping my Mazda in front of the house. Few months ago some burgles tryed to break in to my car, luckily the alarm went off, and they ran away...rear door window were smashed

As I wrote before, I´m gonna bring this cab to UK...
I came to Estonia for a easter break, to get this car ready for a road trip through Europe.
So I rented a trailer to get it ready for road worthy Certificate...and it passed it without any problems :)
I had to raise the car a bit because 10" wheels are too wide for 80mm lowering for this trip :D
So the road trip starts on Tuesday morning (26 april) and I still have to drive it through Europe mainland, because all the ferrys were fully booked allready(because of easter holidays). Luckyly I found one last spot on a ferry from Rotterdam to Hull. Hopefully I´ll be in UK on 28th of April :)
Here some picts for now, I will add some more later when I´m back in Manchester.

I can proudly say that I made it to Manchester with this car without any problems :)
The trip was 2300km (about 30h driving, only 2h sleep on front seats- wasn´t so nice)
Yesterday I cleaned the car and adjusted the valves

I´m working in a bar, selling alcohol to the fans :)
Seats are from German company König.. very good and comfy seats for driving, but not good for sleeping there :D
