Well i am now back in an E30 after a long trip down to plymouth to pick up my new car from Martin (E30Mart) very nice fella nice to deal with.
Started out on saturday morning at 4am to get it, took 3 trains consisting of 9 hours to get there and then a 500 mile drive back. But all worth it
its great to be back in an E30 after 2 years
Its a 318i Design Edition, covered 170k and has a detailed service history with bundles of reciepts and all MOT's.
Got alot i would like to do to get it the way i want it so i will update the thread as i progress. I originaly wanted a 325 before going for this one so i will be looking to upgrade the engine in the very near future
So far i have bought some Alpina Reps and a 370mm Tech 2 wheel (thanks Adi

)
Anyway heres a few pics i took after i gave it a quick wash when i got back
And the Tech 2 wheel and Alpina Reps, these will be fitted tommorow after work

well managed to fit my alloys after work today, had abit of hassle doing so as one of the nuts on the drivers side front wheel was rounded off, so went to my local garge i use and he got the nut removed for me which was all good but when removing the wheel we discovered the ball joint was nakerd so going to have to replace that soon.
by the time i got home it was dark so couldnt realy get any decent pics but heres a quick 1 i took for an idea. i will take some better ones tomorow.
desperately needs lowering now, but im trying to sort out so that should be done shortly

This is such a nice car, i was really interested in this and for the price you couldnt complain. The trip from Manchester is what put me off, but a 9 hour trip thats some effort.

Tony - thanks mate im realy happy with it
Topblag - i dont mind the ride to be honest, im used to being in a little xr2 with 13's and 90mm dropped coilovers lol so this is a whole lot smoother
l16ydl - yeah it was a long trip all round and i was nakerd by the time i arrived home lol but all worth while

thanks mate, yeah i do agree. have just bought some springs off a zoner last night which should be here on friday, so should have thesee fitted at the weekend
i have been looking into different options for the engine side of things. i know i want a 2.5 set up. but i cant decide if i want to get all the bits together and get someone local to do it for me or if i should save the extra cash and take a trip down to A tech and have the whole lot done properly.
Already spoke to Ben at A tech and had a quote for the work, but i also have two Zoners offering me everything needed for the conversion and running gear.
So ive just got to decide what route to take

if you gone do the engine conversion ditch the 2.5 and go for a 3.5

Or even better fit the 2.8 M52 out of the e36, quite a few people in the north/north east have done this now so plenty of local knowledge.

Speak to e30topless, he is in huddersfield and often offers to carry out engine conversions. I know he is busy with a couple of resto's but i would trust him to carry out the conversion to a high standard. he knows his e30's inside and out

Thanks for all the comments
Andreia - 3.5 Running costs will criple me mate lol
Alex - not on a very big budget mate to be honest, ive just bought Alpina's and Tech 2 wheel, and going to collect Tech 2 convertible kit on saturday so the funds are running down quick lol
Huddersfield is a bit of a mission for me to get the engine and all the gear to mate, and as its my only transport i will need it back asap. if i decide to buy all the stuff to do it here i have a local fella thats been recomended and hes quoted a nice price to do the work

Update: Recieved my my 60/40 lowering springs from Stevie (Robbo-80) friday moring thanks mate
Couldnt find a garge to fit them so posted up on the zone to see if anyone could help me out and Mick came to my rescue lol
So set off down to Durham today to meet Mick and have them fitted. Nice genuine fella! Nice to meet you mate
Whilst working away Mick gave me some pointers on things and explained to me what he was doing as the job went on, it was good to learn a bit of info and be shown how the job was done.
Im very happy with the out come, looks much better
not the best of pics as they were taken on my phone.
Anyway heres a few pics, one from before and a few from when the springs were fitted.
