NEW CAR!!!!!
I picked up my new car today, a 1990 bmw e30
got some bits and bobs done to it:
- 325i engine, gearbox, diff & complete rear set up.
- e36 steering rack.
- Spax coilovers with adjustable dampening.
- 325i interior with m-tech 1 steering wheel.
- Recent brakes overhall.
- Odd Powerflex polly bushed bits bits through-out
- Recent new front arms & wishbones with powerflex.
- I also have a set of polished Borbett A's for the car they are 16x9".
not got alot of plans for it, maybe tidy a few bits and give it a good once over...
It needs a new set of engine mounts and the electric windows dont work when the doors are closed :s
Are these common faults/hard to replace?

What colour is it?
And can you point me in the right direction on the mounts/electrics?

Calypso red iirc. Borbets will look excellent

have a look in the technical help section for some advice, but the windows sounds like a common fault!

So what do you guys rekon needs doing to it? I was thinking of replacing the chrome trim with black painted ones. any other easy bits that help with the looks?

The trim your after is called shadowline trim. If it was mine i would stick the borbets on and lower it 60mm on decent shocks and springs!

I'd get the borbets on and see what it looks like as I think that will just make it look mint... Whats the interior like?

Get a pic as soon as you get the borbets on! Have you test fitted them to see if they rub?

I think I will be selling the borbets tbh. I think it will spoil the look of the car, I will be refurbishing the standard bbs wheels with some nice fresh silver paint...

You should try them on your car first before you sell them! There is no other wheel I would want on my car!

Right, I need a bit of help. It turns out there is an open diff on the car. Not the diff I was expecting. What is the best diff to buy, what should I be looking for, how easy are they to fit and how much should I expect to pay??
Cheers

What the advantages with a welded diff? Could you lose control alot more easier? And is there any point on a daily?

You will slide round every corner you come across
Folk who use them on a daily say they have no problems apart from the rear skipping when parking or doing slow tight turns.
iirc your insurance will be void
Nice wheels btw

they don't slide youless you want it to or aren't driving according to the conditions.... ie wet slip roads tend to be fun...
best thing i ever done to a car for fun!

But what advantages does a LSD have over a welded diff? I want it to handle as well as just drift
