Many will recognise this turd from the for sale ad's after it was almost broke for spares...

Many thanks to Pacerpete for helping me get this away from the council fest it was about to go through,
Pete your a Gent !
Plans ? I dunno I will just keep going replacing scrap bits for shiny bits... which will take some doing, it's in a very sorry state after spending the last 9 months in a bodyshop at the side of the Ace Cafe
After a bit of research it turns out to be build number 149, of 204 333i's which were Built between 1985 and 1987.
my camera is fecked so I took a few pics with the blackshitberry I will replace them asap,
a frontal crash could be expensive with 4 rads/coolers, they are all custom Alpina jobbies
this one where the foglight would go has a small fan under it ? I suspect it's part of the Aircon crap.. it's no wonder a Tech 1 kit was fitted to cover all this lot up !
dogleg Box (I can never get the hang of these things)
the dash thingy not sure what it does it's in german, but it looks pretty !
had to temporary fit the council lenso's it needs 16" to get over the big brakes, I have the Alpina 7j wheels fresh from a refurb but need the tyres fitting.. it came on steel wheels with the calipers cable tied to the wishbones !
the rear inner/outer arches are toast

More pics of the nice rusty bits coming when i start to take it apart !
it was a suprise to find this in the history, will read it when i get the chance
it also has a complete SA toolkit !
More pics to follow when i get a camera working

Was really tempted with this car when i seen the chap was going to break it. But too many other resto's made me stay away. Glad its gone to someone who will build it correctly. Will be watching this thread.

How much for the tray and air-vent thingy?
Sorry I couldn't resist, fair play for taking it on topless going to be a nuts and bolts job done on this one.

Pretty isn't it ? The owner left it in the body shop when he realised he couldn't afford the bill ! Luckily everything is there

What are we talking here- couple of years project or more like five? Is this a main project or a sideline project?

A fair bit, but I would have paid that.
And not for a frag fest either.

it has 2 oil coolers.... one is from the filter housing the other is from the sump ? wierd combo....
I am no Hero, just a collector of scrap turds !
the owner was flat broke and knew it would break for 3k,
if i hadn't bought it on the friday it would have been fragged on the saturday.....
managed to get the coolant system filled and up to temp today , Damn the M30 takes a lot of messing to get all the air out !,suprisingly the Electric fan works
very happy with the way it runs ...sounds/feels a very strong engine
thats less to sort out

This is gona be a good thread to help those zoners repair the E30 instead of the easy way out and scrapping them. IMO
subscribed!!!!!

I aim to get it sorted ASAP, funds allowing, it needs at least 4-5 k pouring into it to make it right , sadly I have other things going to make a living
one step at a time with this turd, bodywork/panel replacement first on the list !

That outer arch don't actually look too bad, it all looks localised and mainly around the lip so a repair panel section should repair that easily enough. Carn't really tell what the inners are like though but pre-facelifts seem to be more resistant in there than facelift festers? Looking forward to the pics

Thats the good arch !
The car is challenged to put it mildly BUT all of the important bits are present and correct and the car is amazingly unmolested.
Up until a recent spate of council keepers the car appears to have been properly maintained and runs like a watch but sounds much better !

Alpina boot spoiler FTW !
old Brochures...
I like the stripes they used ...might have to replicate them ?

How many E30's have you got?
Wish I had the time and skills to mend these let alone afford to buy them or store them LOL
I still prefer the H23 to this but I wouldn't say no to this 333i by any means! Am watching your progress with interest!

a keen eye from a fellow fragger! ,
it came with a standard Heck spoiler , but I think a pina or tech 1 will do it justice !

have you got one in the stash ?
Managed to spend an hour or 2 on the turd today..wish i could find the charger for my camera
removed the other wing to check the front inners, all seems very very good up front !
and got to investigate the Radiator madness , it seems 2 were for the Aircon/climate , which on this car is really OTT, I have removed these, They are both stamped Alpina , I doubt they will be cheap to replace

the remaining ones are the coolant and a little oil cooler at the side of it Both Alpina too,
The front panel is surprisingly solid !
