My 1st E30 - 318is

Just thought i'd post some pictures up of my 318is. This is my 3rd BMW, previous models being an E36 316 Coupe, & an E36 3.0 M3. I've always wanted an E30, & I was looking at buying one when the M3 came up for sale. I decided the time was right to get one, as i was getting bored with the M3, & E36's in general. I'd been looking for a while, & decided on a 318is, as I wanted something cheaper to maintain & run after the M3. I picked up this one last weekend. Bodywork is near mint, the odd stone chips on the front, but the rest of the shell is solid. The interior is again in mint condition, no rips or tears in the seats, & no cracks in the dash.
The car is totally standard, with no mods at all, it still has the original stereo too.
Here are some pics.......

Thanks, I nearly had your one!! I was looking at that before this one. A few things put me off though. I'd have loved a red one, but white is the next best!

I never liked white cars but then I had an E30 Touring in white and it looked great. It really does suit the E30 shape.
You have a PM

I've been busy doing the niggly little things since I got her. Problems i've found were:
Slight Over Heating, fixed with New Thermostat & Viscous, Renew & Bled the Cooling System.
Erratic Idle, Work In Progress, hoping to get sorted this week. The car has erratic idle when the Breather pipe from the R/C is connected, disconnect it & it idles fine. Going to check the TPS & the ICV this week.
Wipers not working on intermittent, fixed by using the guide in the Wiki, strip, clean & Re-grease the motor.
Alarm inop. Took apart the Siren, & needs new battery. Got one ordered so should be fixed soon.
Rear top mounts need doing.
Erratic Temperature Gauge. Hopefully fixed, not tested yet. I read that it is a bad earth connection, so removed the cluster, & the nut holding the Temp Gauge in was loose. Tightened it so will see if this fixes it.

looks nice mate, ...but the is front lip is missing !
give the icv and throttle body a good clean with carb cleaner- 15 min job
also, a 370ml tech 2 steering wheel make a good difference to the drive and feel of the car !

Nice looking 'is. I have always liked the 'is in white, colour really suits it. Any plans or you keeping it original?

Thanks for the comments! The missing lip WAS negotiated into the price I paid, & is on my list to do! I'm not going to do much to it really, no major mods, possibly the Tech 2 Steering wheel, ( had one on my M3 & it really is a nice wheel!), a set of 15" BBS's for the summer then have winter tyres on the 14's. It also needs an electric aerial to replace the "thing" on there now
