Damn, sorry to hear and see that, hope your ok though.
Youve probably nocked the engine back off its mount and may have lost the propshaft connection to the box

Damn!!! shame this happened

cant you strip all the front down and check to see if it's worth saving as a winter project, as for the knocking from the engine that's down to the mount breaking and putting the drive out of line but if you was going to put a new lump in then all the better.

This will make you laugh
A few years ago (15 or so) a mate's dad was looking at a beautiful UR quattro 20v Turbo, took the old dear with them to look at it. They pulled up at the dealers and she refused to even get out of the car and look at it. Citing "bad vibes" about it and how red cars spell danger. So the old boy had to forget about it.
I made the stupid mistake of telling my missus about this story and she lapped it up and now also has an issue with red cars, this was before I smacked the touring up. In fact, when it arrived on the driveway as a 316i I had to make excuses that I wasn't keeping it and was going to tart it up and sell it.
Maybe these crazy women do know something?

Looks like you hit the wall with a fair bit of speed, must have been giving it some to loose a 316 on a dry road

Looks repairable, but whether it's economically viable is another thing...

there isnt any twist in the roof that i can see but the wings overlapped the doors so had to force it open and the glove box wont close so summit is twisted. iv given up on the idea of fixing her
