A few pics of my newly aquired 316i touring, a bit rough but solid shell. Timing belt gone on it so contemplating an engine swap, would love to squeeze an M60 in there but that is a bit out of my league so will have to be a4-pot for the time being.

Excuse the kids in the picture, just my son and daughter earning their keep!!!!

It came with 6 bbs 7j alloys, result!! Just gotta spruce `em up.

Thanks guys, for the minute it will have to be a 4 pot lump as I will be using it as my daily, e34 is a bit heavy on juice.......burning holes in all my pockets!!!

Quick question, would a m40b18 motor go straight in, what would I need to change, ecu etc etc? I have seen a few cheap ones floating around, just wanna get it up and running asap for as cheap as possible.

Thanks

Gavin

Would love to, but this will be my daily driver, I cover 30 miles a day and those six cylinder m`s swallow like thirsty Barmy Army supporters!!!

Once this one is up and running the e34 is being sold and my next project will begin. I want to create a hill climb/ track monster with either an m30 or m20 with tripple webbers and nothing interior wise exept essentials(steering wheel , seat and harness). Would really like to find a standard rust free early e30, the ones with smaller taillights, and take it from there.

What you reckon?

Sounds interesting, I would be chuffed if I could get £30 per week in fuel, just over half what Im paying now. Hmm.....

..... will have to see....... Baz how is your conversion coming along, I may have to use your build as a guide, as I am not that mechanically advanced but I do know a few things!!

Right, better start looking for bits then........
