Picked up a 318is

Picked this up last week, its a 1991 318is with 85k on clock, I've known this car for the last nine years and had pestered the previus owner for years trying to buy it but his answer was always no. Its no minter but wouldn't take much to make it really nice, obviously first thing I'll do when I find time is give it a good mop with some G10 then plenty of wax/polish. Chap who owned it is a mechanic in the best independant BMW/Merc garage on the island so he's looked after all the oily bits including the profile gasket and chain tensioner. Its got some nice extras like a limited slip diff.
All I've done so far is replaced the OMP steering wheel with a tech-2 (the OMP wheel has a genuine BMW boss bizzarely so I wonder if its a Nardi boss?) and removed the headlight eyebrows.

I still have my Sport, nothing will make me part with the Sport, my plans for this will be to get it back to O.E spec so 15" BBS and I already have a tech-1 rear spoiler to colour code then I plan to improve its general condition.
I've only ever owned (quite a few) six cylinder E30s and was always really dissapointed whenever I drove the four-pots but this is different, I miss the 'heavy' refined straight six sound especially when I start it up and whilst it hasn't got the low-down punch that the 325i has it still has its own charm it feels light and revvy and I find this one sounds awesome for a four-pot when its revving hard (it has a wop-wop-wop fruity gaylord exhaust) and of course it has much better fuel economy than a six. I've read loads of post recently about how crap the 318is is mainly from the 325i crowd, I find the two cars are completely different and have their own advantages and drawbacks, I prefer a 325i simply because the straight six is what got me into E30s but otherwise the 318is is quite a perky little performer for a 1.8 and not the disappointment I though the M42 might be
Brilliant red and black leather
