Are you going to make this a proper pick-up or is it just a bit of fun :?:

proper pickup ole son. I have a porsche 944 as my daily at the mo so the e30 is a winter project to be honest so there is no rush on. ive had my fair share of sports and sport look-a-likes so it was time for something different.

it has a sunroof at the min and photos can be decieving, as i said ive had 7 2drs and this was the only one worth chopping as it was the roughest of the 7.

Im a realist and as much as i love E30's i dont fall into the realms of thinking that any old e30 is worth mega money, this was never more than a 200 quid rattly 316 in my eyes

so no i havent ruined anything. it has had repairs in the inner arches and jacking points already to a not massively great standard so il have to put that right too along the way

What are the front seats?

They look like Recaro SR's?

Maybe the tailgate from a touring would be of some use for the back of the of the cab.

be a bit large i think, i have a sliding glass rear window from a VW caddy that i think will do the job, the rear window is crucial, looking at some conversion pics on the net there are some nice e30 pickups ruined by a bad choice of rear window!

great pick up( call them utes down under) my son has just started driving and has taken over my beloved hilux (lowered with 17 inch rims). I have to use my e30 for day to day driving now. If yours turns out good I think I will have to buy a cheap 2nd e30 and copy yours.

Looks good,I understand that the rear seat bulkhead is critical to the strength of the shell, how do you intend to compansate for it's removal?
There's a boat in the background to some photo's,yours? :D

Re:

nope the boat is not mine thankfully! the porsche 944 is tho! far more fun to drive than an e30 i must say!

Strengthening.......... yes it will require some. nothing some decent box section and a mig wont sort!

Wouldn't a E30 Baur convertible be easier to convert into a pick-up? Or am I talking outta my backside again?
