Well this is the first proper clean it's had since it's engine build and since last year really. I've been using it in anger since getting it running and tomorrow, it's on show at Vines for their "Experience joy" weekend. So it has to look right.

It's come okay as it happens :D

Theres a couple of jobs left to do. This winter is a rear suspension out job to do the rear beam bushes which, as you can see by the way it's on it's arse, are now well and truly f*cked. While the diff and beam are out, the front to rear brake pipes, the flexibles above the diff and fuel lines will be replaced. Will probably source a nice 3:64 slipper to go back in as well.

Not happy with the steering wheel at present. Noticed a couple of splits in the tired leather the other day  . So now on the look out for a smaller Tech1 OR maybe have this one re trimmed but with tri colour stitching like the late e36 mTech wheels.

Then I reckon it's all done and dusted. After 5 years of work there will be nothing left to do.

probably the best I have at the mo. Originally bought new and fitted in an F reg 16v Golf by an ex of the wife friend , he stripped it all out in '93 and it (along with a period Alpine Pull out head unit) was stuffed in a box in the corner of the house the girls rented at the time. I made an offer to him which he accepted and it all went in a series of my brother in laws cars up until a few years back, when I claimed the analyser back for this car.

Both. It's an equaliser which produces a spectral graph on the screen. It's a bit out of sorts TBO as the 4 buttons light up classic Alpine green. Would be better it they lit amber like the dash and stereo.

I've had to pull out mate. We have a few things on at home next weekend and I have to say, I've not been about much at home with work and other things. So I'm afraid I cannot make the pod!

I'll endevour to go next year though.

Sometimes, with a family and all that, you just have to go with the flow just to keep the peice. I go to guildford virtually every month, as i try to the Ace. I always get to Gaydon, today I've been at Vines Experience Joy event all day. Yesterday I spent cleaning it and all this is without mentioning the hours we spent building and getting the engine running. And that includes taking a day's leave to drop the gearbox out of it rather than take the family to Chessington World of Adventures for the day (which went down like a cold cup of sick!).

So to miss the pod is a small price to pay for all the crap I get up to!

Trevor, I know where your at with this. I too am dipping out on my first pod due to family stuff. Next year though, next year . . .
