Can't go wrong for that money

Will look better with the bottletops on it.

cheers, ye plan to get a couple of front seats for it, as they are in pretty bad order, needs a good service and general tlc, think a wheel bearing needs doin, bodywork isnt too bad at all just bits of surface rust and the paintwork is a bit on the dull side, the worst been the boot lid which is a bit worse for wear think that may need changing in the near future, in general i just want to get it back to good original condition, im one of those people that think they look the best as standard but with maybe a few subtle mods nothing too ott.
im currently after an original gear knob as it has a nasty aftermarket thing there, plus a new gaiter as the one in there now is well past it.

cheers alex lol, it needed a couple of new tyres and seen the alloys for sale for a cheap price, all with good tyres so i thought id get em as i thought they would look better than trims, i will see how they look, if youre right i will be changing them when the tyres wear out

Bottletops look fine if they're kept sparkly clean and they're cheap as chips. You can buy a bottletop wheel with a good tyre cheaper than you can get a decent part-worn fitted and balanced.

Agreed, looks better with the rims.....I used to hate bottletops, but they've grown on me now, especially after seeing a MK1 golf with some sprayed gold.
Looked awesome.
p.s. welcome to the zone

cheers ste, but seems like i do one job, then somethin else happens, the sunroof handle broke off the other day so ordered one of them, then yesterday the chrome trim on the passenger side blew off on the motorway and put a small ding and scratch in the roof i was fuming

all part of the fun i suppose

Indeed, soon you'll be knee deep in parts and jobs to do. Very rewarding though. The sunroof handles and manual window handles do have a habit to breaking too as i found out the other day.

when i bought the car both front seats were perished, ive been on the lookout for some replacements since day one, i gave up after a while. Then last week went down to chris warburtons to pick up my chrome gutter trim, top bloke by the way, so thought id ask him if he ever gets any seats in, low and behold he had a set, 40 quid for the 2 so i took em gonna try and fit em this week.
Thanks again Chris you are a legend.
theseats in there now
the new ones to go in, like brand new
cant wait to get em in there

Bottletops for the win.
The only thing that would annoy me is the grey rear bumper.

Other than that it looks a real nice more door!

ye that annoys me aswell, thats one of the many jobs on my list lol its never ending. was thinking of either getting a set of new bumpers or getting them sprayed white, no too sure yet

Either would be good!
What else you got planned for it? They really are addictive aren't they, even 4 cylinder models.

ye very addictive, just when you seem to be on top of things something else comes up lol had to patch up the inner rear arch as with all this rain and driving the car the jack compartment in the boot was flooded again so have fibreglassed it up just to get me through the winter, then will give the bodywork a good inspection in the spring and get all the bad spots sorted before they get worse, wanna keep it as original as possible really, maybe a few tweaks here and there, wish mine was in as good nick as yours ollie, by the way hows the car goin now you have passed your test?

My car is going great thanks. I think If I showed you photo's of the state the car was in when I got it you would be very suprised, and there is still lots to make it right.
