Looking great Dan

Is there a correct period Alpina stripe kit that could go on your car or did the silver ones not have them ? The gold or silver decal kits on the black or dark blue cars look

From what I have seen none of the ones like mine were striped and I know for a fact mine never had it done.
If you notice the front ALPINA badge on the cow plough is on one side. A stripped Alpina has the logo in the middle of the front spoiler and the stripping starts around the word ALPINA.
I have been tempted in the past to get it striped but the Gold kit is NLA and the silver kit would be pointless on my paintwork.
With the help of Bssi325 I have been finding out what the car should and should not have in my endevore to get it perfect and orginal. The chromie styling has grown on me so much since owning this car and the MOMO Alpina steering wheel is really comfortable and I can see all the gauges when driving for once!
I could be really boring and put up the SS of my houndstooth interier but I will not bore everyone with them

Looks great Dan, Plates are a little ott for my liking tbh. A nice set of Sytner plates would finish it off nicely

Nice pics of the old girl though.

I was going through a "council" phase when I got them as I had them on my cab at the time. I will take them off or blacken them now I think.
Glad you liked the old girl

Yes Olli I will be at Santa-Pod as it is my favorate event of the year.
Thanks for the nice comments. It needs a little bit of touching up and a new drivers door but thankfully all the rrust prevention that the 2 previous owners has done has kept it clean as a whistle under the kit and undernieath.
She just clicked 230,000 today on my way home from the Oxford meet which made me smile. Engine was rebuilt a few years ago but I need to sort a few bits out when I get some serious money.
I took Diddler out for a spin in it today and he was just loving the sound it makes. The car has a very distinct howle to it once you go over 2500 rpm.
Glad everyone is liking her. You can now see why I adore the car so much now.

As regards numberplates, I don't think there's anything better than mint 'old font' (pre-2001) plates, and you can still get them - ask Paul (the_diddler). If you could get them done with the correct, contemporary, Sytner Nottingham logo too that would be awesome. Not strictly legal, but once you've fitted them, who's to know they haven't always been there?
Any news on the car since the TBMW day? Are you booked into a bodyshop or anything?

It was due to go in but the exhuast need refitting which was more imediate so I lost my chance for the body work.
Because I am sorting out the court case stuff and I am sorting out all my Uni stuff. The Alpina is actually going to become my daily as i have to do a fair bit of traveling and with money being tight it is cheaper to run the Alpina than my little Ford Puma ( and there is no chance I am selling the Alpina to keep the Puma ). It will get some more work done over the next month or so as I need two minjor jobs doing for my MOT. I'll try and get the arches done , off side dent fixed and I will get the door reskinned. I will then get dad to put a heavy wax on it which will protect it over the winter time.
Going to be intresting going to Uni driving a rare old school Alpina. Can't wait to bump into the Saxo crowd

.
Oh and Rav

Jogon

They are in really really good nic mate. The colour is slightly different to standards but it matches the cars paintwork alot better.
There is no corrosion on them what so ever and they clean up really well.
Alec has always thought the colour of the car was wrong but when I took it to a BMW body shop the guy said it was a 100% match to Polaris silver. Only thing I want to sort out is removing the Zender rear kit and having it like an Alpina should be.

It's a normal BMW back mate.
It's a very wierd look tbh but suits the style. The Zender kit looks lik it should be on there as it matches the Alpina skirts.

Dan, from where you live it would probably take you LONGER to drive to Brookes and park than it would do to walk!!!

But yes, I agree it would definitely be the coolest car in the student car park. Trouble is, you'll probably just end up staring out the window at it while in your lectures!!
