E30 Zone

right, so while the engine has been apart, iv been cleaning bits up and sprayed a thew that were complety shot





promblem is i can't make my mind up on leaving the the hole of the rocker cover sliver or some bits in black, any thoughts, wich looks better cheers

Yep, might not work so well with the silver though

ill give it a go 2moz, and see what happens

how did you do the throttle body, i bet thats a pain in the arse

just spent ages cleaning it, took a thew bits off, and gave it loads of coats, still got the other half to go yet

mm, nothing special , only halfords high temp paint, all i could really find

Felt a have-to-do-need on this one, gave it a real lift, the whole bay!

thats what i will get then, looks almost the same colour as the engine bays in the e30 sales brochures so thats good enough for me

o and i used a massiv botle of autoglym engine & machine cleaner

yer thats what i thought, when i started spraying, was quite a good match i think really, and hasn't really cost that much to

Good man, ive nearly used two bottles already, buy 2 get third free from Halfrauds

will get some next week and get cracking, how much preperation did you do in terms of hours thats the bit i hate

spook- yer i did the same, 3 for the price of 2, that autoglym wheel cleaner is good stuff to, works really well on bbs's

alex- mm i would say a thew hours, gave it a good coat of engine & machine cleaner, left it for a while, 15-20 mins, then came back to it with some wire wool and some fine wet and dry, did start to get fed up with it after a while, so just kept leaving it and comming back to it,

lol sounds like me although i spend 4 hours solid preping my IS front spoiler which is not like me

wooo, thats a while, i probley would of got well fed up after an hour mind you it is nice to see the diffrence, the bit that i would say took the longest was cleaning the body work around the engine its self, getting it to all the gaps and that

Looks nice under there now, i'd replace the washer bottle, freely available from the dealers, not too expensive either, will finish it off nicely

thanks you , was thinking of that, did try and give it a good clean up, but wasn't making much diffrence, might get my brother to order me 1 up then if u can still pick them up from the dealers
