thanks Alex, i love the colour too. i want to fit a mtech 2 kit, and lower it, the space between the front wheel and arch is huge.

keep it as is, cabbys look best with out the body kits imo
it looks just like our old 320i cabby apart from the leather

Look's lovely, calpyso cabby's
I would lower it a tad (maybe 40mm) and keep it looking standard

i have already given a deposit on a kit and personally i think they look better with the kit on. has to be genuine though copies never look right.
Imy, how much have you lowered your cab? i am looking at similar size rims for mine.

It'll looking stunning with a Tech 2 kit, there is another one on here, i'll try and find the pic
Mine is lowered 40mm all round, looks nice and don't have problems going over humps

Well if your going to start modifying what appears to be a good unmolested example, atleast go for a tec 1 kit. There more exclusive as there not that many of them about.

It's a facelift car so quite a bit of modifying needs to be done.
Here's the other cabby i was on about raj:

i really like that. the drop looks really good too. are those rims 17's or 18's?

Those are 17's. Looks really nice but not practical at that ride height, too low

if i was to get 17" rims, how wide can i go and ET? i pretty much know how i want it to look but dont know what rims to get. i have been offered BBS RM's 8x15 and 9x15, thinking might look too small with a tech2 kit fitted.

Perfect size for the E30 IMO is 16". I've had 17" fitted but 16" are much better handling wise.
15" will look nice but you will need to drop it at least 60mm to pull off a nice look.
ET ideally for 17" x 7.5J, somewhere between 20-30

Is that definately calypso red ? Looks more browny-metallic to me but still a nice unusual colour . Personally I wouldn't bother with a bodykit or changing the wheels - looks great as it is !

i found this pic on the net, its running 9x15 rear and 8x15 front. so same rims and spec as i have been offered.

If you can get it looking like that I take back what I just said about keeping your existing wheels

what front bumper has that red car got? it looks much better than mine

Definately not facelift Imy - got the chrome bumper and pre-facelift front panel with the larger foglights.
Raj the red car has the facelift plastic bumpers - you'd have to change the front panel and rear panels and rear lights to get plastic bumpers and a tech 2 kit to fit. Not really worth it when its a clean looking car already !

Didn't the facelift for the cabs happen around H/J reg ? This car is probably just an early H plate.

oh i thought i could put the bumpers on, i do have the smaller rear lights. didnt think much could have changed to prevent you fitting a kit. starting to think it will be too much hassle to fit the kit.

Tech 1 Front and Rear bumpers would go straight on but the sideskirts are different for the cabby compared to the saloon. A lot of people just use the Tech 1 front airdam and don't bother with the rest of the kit - which looks

Must be a early H reg then, just noticed the pre-facelift front lip and fogs
Will look nice with a Tech 1 kit, don't think i've seen a pre-facelift calpyso cabby.
WOW, that Merc look's awesome

Raj I agree with Rob on this one.
Your cars rare as it is with the pre- facelift bumpers, colour etc. I personally wouldnt put the kit on the car, your car looks awesome without it. Besides, every other car on the zone has a tec 2 kit on it, its been done to death.
If you do decide to sell it in the future, purists wont really look at it in terms of originality.
Btw I love your merc, have a lot of childhood memories in a similar one but black with red interior.
You couldnt post up anymore pics could you
