Refurbed Borbet A's - they glow

Ok so they don't actually glow its just that my phone camera is crap.
Took these to The Wheel Specialist in Manchester the other weekend and I think they did an amazing job. I know they aren't exactly the most original of wheels but I have always liked them and they will look a bit better than the bottle tops. They have been powdercoated all over including the dish, they had a few scratches in the dish and the finish is pretty bright and reflective anyway so im happy.
Anyway Im going to get some tyres for them on Saturday. 205/45/16's front and 225/45/16's or 235/45/16 rear. they are et20 front and et15 rear. The car hasnt been lowered although i may consider a 30mm drop in the future. Do I need spacers and longer bolts?
Thanks, Kieron

Now i have read the top post correctly

im also gonna try and help
Id revisited the tyres size as 45mm is gonna be a bit big esp if ur gonna go for a drop
The rear tyre size is gonna be to big for the 9j rim, ur get rubbing issues like mad id suggest 215's at max on the rear
U wont require longer bolts front or rear nor willl u require spacers for ur setup

Cheers for the comments, i couldnt believe how good they looked when I collected them. The colour was a spare of the moment thing when i was at the refurbers. i was going to have them done back to how they come but saw this colour on another wheel.
Im glad about the spacer thing didnt want to mess around with them. Thanks for the hint on tyres. Im gonna go for 205/45/16 on the front and 215/45/16 on the rears. Dont want to go to thin on the fronts. Ill probably be using Event tyres in Manchester as they seem to be good value.
Unfortunately they are going on a black 320 four door with an m tec 2 spoiler. Just wish the car looked as good as the wheels. Once they are on ill try to use a better camera to get some decent pics.
Thanks

I use a 215/40/16 all round with the 9's, perfect size.
Neil, the profile of the tyre isn't measured in millemeters (mm). For example my tyres are 215/40/16, the 40 is the 'aspect ratio' or 'percentage' of the width of the tyre - Profile = 40% of 215.

ok ive just spent the last couple of hours trying to get some tyres. Been to various places from national companies to little garages. They all keep saying are you sure about the tyre size? then trying to get me to go for something bigger with the last place on about 265/50/16.
What happened to the customer being right? To be honest i wouldnt mind going a bit wider on the backs but surely in the current climate to get some money, these garages should be putting elastic bands on my wheels if i ask them to. Im just a bit would up because no one wanted to sell me some tyres.
Where does everyone else go for tyres?

I put 205/50/16s on mine, 225s were too wide on a 60/40 drop, they still rub on the rear with two passengers

I eventually managed to get some tyres on the wheels. Used Event tyres and got them to come to me. I was cleaning the car today so thought I would put some pictures up.
Cant decide whether or not to lower it by 30mm, dont want to go any lower than that.
I know there are a few areas on the car that need attention, mainly cosmetic such as the nasty plastic bumpers and the exhaust looks strange in the photos, but most annoying is the paintwork which is quite dull, I would love to have it resprayed but the car isnt worth it, maybe if i still have it in a few years and do an engine swap.
Thinking of smoking/tinting the rear lights red at the mo. not sure which way to go.

they look nice, the car needs a drop. What size tyres did you fit? and are they 7.5 and 9's?

nice wheels but a serious drop required.

Thanks. The tyres are 205/40/16 and 215/40/16 went for falkens and they seem pretty good even in the wet last night.
I had thought about a 30mm drop but I think its on the original springs which have probably compressed a bit anyway. What drop is yours fuzzy?

mine is -60/40 although the front may sit differently due to the engine conversion.

thanks for that, yours sits nicely. would i be right in thinking the cossie engine is lighter than the m20?

hi i really need to sort the paintwork out. Since i put these wheels on the car my enthusiasm has come back and there are loads of parts i want to get.
the place was the wheel specialist:
http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/Fil ... etails.php
they are a meant to be a chrome like finish they were done black and then silver over the top. There are one or two blemishes in the finish but only in funny areas, i would still recommend them.
I keep seeing more e30s on the roads around manchester.
