Introducing the more door

Had this for a little while now so thought i'd post up some pics.

Introducing my 325i SE LPG'd 4door.

Few mods already made:-

- New mats
- LED Interior Lights
- Replaced clown bulbs from dash clock (now all lit up nicely)
- 4300K HID kit installed
- Fitted Tech 2 Steering Wheel

Still to come
- Install LHD heater panel purchased from Daimlerman
- Install ICE
- Window Tints
- Lower (still thinking about whether i want to or not as this is a daily driver, and just so comfortable as it is)
- Tech 2 kit (same as above)
- Fit 15" BBS wheels
- Leather interior

Bodywork is pretty dull and there's a few bits of rust that need sorting before most of the above list are done. Also a few little mechanical niggles that need sorting. That said for the money i think i got a good car, and 100 miles to £10 of gas is making me very :D

Anyway, here's some pics (I know they're crap pics...not had a chance to take any decent pics of it yet :(

The lights look bloody spiffing. Big LPG tank looks purposeful too.

Yep, it was the one Supafly was selling. Bought for alot less than what the car went on for initially. Does have a few things that need sorting, but should pay for itself as i'm using so much less on fuel money.

80litre tank so i'm told a usable 64litres. If nothing else it means that i have a range of 500+miles without needing to fill up easily, and alot more if i drive economically.

The lights are awesome, i had 8000K hid's in my touring and the difference between them and the 4300K is like night and day!

Hoping to get some work done on this and the touring very soon in the new year.

Nice car.

Really like your choice of upgrades. :D Except for the HID's it just doesn't look right on an old car, but I do understand the wish to see during the night.

Looks like a new set of rear exhaust box rubbermounts or complete rear box is about due, if your not the type that runs it until the box is on tarmac making sparks while your needing to go some where important. 8O

I disagree...HID's work/look better in these 'old' cars that have a 'projector lense' type light than in the newer car's that have been retrofitted that have normal lights. HID's are a must for all cars i buy! :D

Just noticed that the exhaust looks low in the pics...doesn't look that low in reality, will have a look at it this weekend. Was thinking about upgrading the whole exhaust system, just another thing on the list

Update.

Booked in to get the window tints done on Thursday and also replaced all the window switches aswell (3 did not light up before), all nice and bright now :D

Pics to follow when done.

I was unsure whether to get the windows tinted as the front passenger window has bad scratches in it from where it looks like someone's tried to break into it, but i figure i can get that one window re-tinted once i've found a replacement window/door.

Plans are just as per the my 1st post. Not sure yet if i'm going to go the whole tech2 and lowering route yet or not.

On the seats, i only needed front leathers for my touring. I already have
rear black leather seats so only needed the fronts. Pm me the minimum you'll take for the fronts if you're willing to sell seperately and we'll see from there.

I'm also on the lookout for a leather interior for this one aswell but in no rush.

Can't explain how much I miss it. The replacement looks like its going to give me serious headaches!!

The exhaust is a little low, I took the back off when I did all the rear bushes.

some more pics for you...

wire brushed the whole lot and then painted it all with hammerite, didn't take any after shots as I was too eager to put it back together again. When I re-assembled it all I noticed it was a little low, but like you I was planning on changing the whole lot so I left it as it was.

Hid's seem good but in every picture I've seen they have a lot of glare around the headlight itself. Is this just due to camera's at night or can you see the glare with the naked eye?

How you enjoying it so far? managed to empty the gas tank yet? :D

The glare is just in the pics...you don't see that in real life.

Tank is still showing 2 lights so a long way to go. Not driven it much to be honest as i've been ill with the bug that's going round. Don't think it's going to be a true reflection of how many miles it'll do this time round though as i've left it started with the heaters on when i've been out...probably over an hours worth of idling with the heaters on.

I've have a look at the exhaust to see why it's like that over the weekend, but from a quick inspection it looks like the pipes are pointing down more than they normally would, but the box isn't actually that low. Not fussed about that though, i have a brand new backbox in my cellar if it needs it, but would prefer full stainless.

You really need to get the black one up and running so you can start sorting them turbo's out. Would love to see how that move's when it's finished.

Re:

From what I've heard prolonged idling is no good for a car. Mainly the spark plugs overheat. Next time sit in your mates car ;-)

Plenty of theory to get through first on the black one, then get it running, then get a job, then fund the turbo's.... long way to go yet, but I'll let you know when its done.

The exhaust was fine before I took it off. It just needs the joints loosening then set the tail pipes in place and re-tighten, or sod it and wait til you get a new system.

I try not to leave it started and idling, but in this weather it's hard sitting in a cold car :( I only do it when it's upto temp though, when i first start the car i drive off after about 30secs.

I'm used to leaving the engine started as i normally have loads of ICE in the car so need to keep the car started to stop the battery dying in this weather. Must say i do miss the bass and the DVD/TV player from the touring. It's been really hard having to listen to radio  Once the tints are done i'm going to start installing some choice bits in this aswell. Not sure if i'm going to be adding any subs though as that would leave me with virtually no boot space.

What ball park figure are you talking about to get the 4 door done? Looks good from what I can see in those pics.

If you mean for the tints, they cost me £160 as i'm getting other work done from them aswell (usually £180 with the sunstrip).

I'll try and get some better pics up today if i can.

what do you mean LED interior lights? the dash lights?

also (i'm not think...) but why fir a LHD drive heater panel?

LED interior lights are replacements for the one's that come on when you open the door...the normal lights are dim and yellow in colour, i've replaced them with LED lighs that are slightly brighter (this set turned out poor compared to the last one i had) and are pure white in colour.

I'm fitting a LHD heater panel so i can install a motorised DVD player. If you install it in a normal dash then it hits the indicator stalk when you open the screen, but if you install a LHD heater panel (part where the stereo goes) then the OBC is switched sides with the head-unit so it will clear.

I've taken some better pics (well in daylight anyway) and will upload them later. :D
