I sold my old 325 IX to my good friend Neil, who said he was gonna
take good care of the old car and restore it to its full potential. Here's
what he emailed me:

ah i see, i take it thats a south african model, a bit like the 333 e30 which is a nice car, unsur why they got the decent e30's surely the germans would have had there own?

or are they just very rare in the uk?

You'll have to search the forum myinformation is based on recolection of other threads, Tomson has a touring model here in the UK iirc.

Yeah they came in touring and 2/4 door varients, only avaiilable with the M20B25 though, geometry is completely out compared to normal E30's.

Were sold in Europe, North America, and Africa, not sure about Aus though, some even made it over here to the UK but in LHD form.

Great use for the car. Awesome pics.

But they're rare cars. I'd look after one if i had it.

Theres a private one up for sale for around £3000 in Jersey. If i could afford it i'd consider it as it probably the only time i'll ever see or have a chance to own a minter one. too bad they're only LHD (apart from the odd few) as that is whats throwing me off taking a loan out. And i dont own a garage to store her in either :(

I'd love to do that in an E30 tho. They look good on roads, tracks and off roading. Next we need to find/make an E30 boat just to top it off :D

Its a 1988 USA model, BMW began sending 325IXs in 1988 to the USA and ended in 1991. The 1988 were all 2 doors- fully loaded ( leather heated sports seats, deluxe stereo system, Maplight mirror, Mtech1 steering wheel, power sunroof, etc. The 89 and up came in 4 and 2 door with various level of trim packages. They are rare now in the US because most of them were sent to cold and snowy places - all rusted to crap. The few that where not sent to the cold are gems but are rare. The car Neil is jumping in the air is a rust free car that I had bought in San Francisco.

Here's another friend of mine in a IX in Canada:
