I thought id share some pics and a vid of a rolling road day i went to a few weeks ago with the VR6 owners club lot.
I bought the car from playo on here and have spent lots on it already but have a lot more planned next year as i'm going to be taking it the 'ring.
The venue had really good facilities and the guys were very helpful. Ive managed to get a video clip and while i was out went and took a few photos of the M with my mates Merc 190 2.5 16v. It was a very good vibe cruising with this on the way to the dyno run
Anyway vid of the dyno run and some pics - hope you likey

Yeah too true we ended up swapping cars on the drive back. He's just rebuilt the head on it and it was lovely to drive and is a completely standard car - the only thing id have liked on it was a bit more engine note. I think there are becoming very rare these days too.

190 cosworths nice but difficult to find a good one, i was tempted by a 190 but opted for a e30 instead never looked back since.

Nice cars mate, so what power did you hit on the rollers, and where did you take to get it tested...

very very nice pair of autobahn stormers
I have always had a soft spot for the cossy 190E
the one I owned was great fun it was the early 2.3 model (supposedly the fastest ?) given the chance i would have another in a flash

anyway how much did it cost to run the m3 on the dyno?
p.s really nice looking cars btw

Thanks chaps.
The rolling road figured it to 255bhp and 180 lb ft of torque which i was really happy with but it was dyno'd at 265 and 195 lb ft of torque about a year ago so its a little down. At the moment im not sure whether its down to dyno differences or whether it just needs a few bits checking as it hasnt been in for a checkup for quite a while.
Im not sure about the 190's - i didnt even realise they did a 2.3 - i thought they were all 2.5. I guess the earlier 2.3's were all down to DTM regulations at the time?
Because i went with the VR6 Owners Club and we managed to get 20 cars the cost was £35 which is a bargain considering its normally 60 quid.
The place is called Powerstation in Tewkesbury. Very professional outfit and the dyno is top notch too.

Beautiful... but tell that Cossie owner to get some clear indicators!!!!!

lol i will! In fact that does sound like it would look pretty slick with clear lenses. Ill have to point him to this thread he'll really appreciate the love for the Cosworth.
Heres the next bits im chucking on the old girl...
This is it for some time as im officially skint.
H&R coilovers to get the ride height sorted at the front as its too high. At the same time im fitting the Rogue engineering rear shock mounts.
BBS RS's 17x 8.5"/9.5" which need a refurb. You cant see in the photo but they are orginal laquered outers. Im ditching those for stainless because they are soooo much easier to clean than polished aluminum (i speak from experience).
Lastly Sport Evo green top injectors. I cant remember what CC they are but they should improve top end fuelling and maybe give a little more power. It'll go in for another mapping session probably after Christmas.
Found out a couple of days ago that new front wheel bearings for the M3 are 190 quid each + VAT!!! Luckily one of the guys from s14power has got a workaround involving e28 items which are exactly the same bar the ABS ring which i will swap. E28 items are 60 quid each!

IIRC Cosworth designed/built the 2.3-16v and Mercedes built the later 2.5-16v

(This is probably well justified as shes not getting much for Christmas)

Yeah only a lowly 2.3 so not a lot of torque. They really like to be revved and off the boil they can feel slow. Lovely engine though - no doubt about it. The noise is probably the best bit- the carbon airbox transforms the engine note.

Low torque is an M Power trademark. Even the newwer stuff isnt mental for Torque output. BMW have taken the approach that if you produce "less" (relatively) torque you dont need to make cranks and conrods and pistons particularly heavy to withstand it. So you can make light, revvy, and ultimately responsive engines which work better on tracks.

Dont worry fella at least its in good hands

Besides you'll be seeing it again if you come to the 'ring in the rallye.

I couldn't of sold it to a better person Warren! I'm sure you'll be looking after it as good as I did (better even!)
Sold the Rallye mate! It was a pittiful 2nd place to the M3 and too close to not compare them. A fella on Dubforce asked if I'd sell for what I paid so bit the bullet. (which reminds me, I must change my Sig!)
I'm in a 320bhp S4 Avant now! Lol. Great car and the polar opposite to an E30 so no comparison to make
Let me know your ring plans, I at least want a passenger ride if I cant twist your arm for a drive

Lol!
