My lazur blue M50 powered 318is - Soon to be sold!

Picked this up over a year ago as a rolling shell and a week later i got the engine from the same bloke. Lets just say it was a bargain!
Everything was all running fine until it started running on 3! Changed the injectors put it all back together and it was fine for another couple of months and it all went wrong again.
So it was out with the IS lump
I had a few options with what to drop in, we had a couple of m20 2.5's kicking about but after seeing jhonno's at our BBB monthly meet i was being drawn to the m50 sitting on a pallet in the workshop!
The engine is now in its rightful place with m52 tubular manifold, a one piece billet steel flywheel for a m20 weighing approx 4.5 kgs releasing more bhp from the engine.
Its all wired in and almost complete, having a full front end re-spray and back on the road early Nov with any luck.

Update.
All the wiring is done and tidied and i runs!! Just got mt shock bodies back from being blasted and painted they just need rebuilding with the 60mm drop springs and bilstein inserts,
Just waiting for the manifolds to come back after their adjustment and they can go on and it will hit the road! I say hit the road it'll have a few blasts up and down the runway first just to run it in...

nice, i bet she understeers a fair bit tho. but that can be counteracted with a bit of cheeky oversteer

Not had her on the road yet few final touches. The m50 doesn't weigh much more than a m20b2.5 so i guess it will hand like a m20, wont be as good in the twistys as the IS was though.

I ahd to fight my brother off for these wheels and he keeps on trying to sell them from under my car. I saw another set like these on ebay a few weeks ago, not sure what they were on originally they're only stamped bbs and a date mark

You say that but it is getting smaller done alot on it today. Changed the suspension so its now bilsteins all round and 60mm springs, and also fitted cross drilled and grooved discs. The manifolds are all bolted in place and the throttle cable is fitted aswell. Almost there end of the month it'll be on the road. fingers crossed

Just found this pic. My BBS's back from the blasters, every bit of paint off them before they were re done
And this is the doner for my tech 2 kit that will be painted and fitted over the next couple of weeks. The reason its being broken is both inner and outer rear arches are rotten, the scuttle both side has holes you can fit a pint glass in. Not had a chance to look underneath yet but the jacking points are on the passenger foot well in a nice puddle of water!

Update. My car is now next door in the bodyshop. The front end has been stripped and is due to be primed either tonight or tomorrow. The engine bay will also get a lick of paint to freshen it up. It took me all afternoon to remove the coating in the engine bay. Not sure what it was looked a bit like wax! Its all off now anyway. I will get some pictures of it tomorrow.

probably be engine laquer, less understeer than an is and more poised.. you might want a sump guard with a 60mm drop, mines got a 35mm drop and the sump is low as is

Sump guard is next on the list.
Engine bay all primed ready for paint.
