Heyy guys,
When I joined this forum, my '88 325is was undergoing a complete restoration after buying it in a rough condition, and your input along the way was very helpful to me, in getting it to its present state. So here are some pics as it stands today (minus the rear "325is" badge, that is :P) with only very minor details remaining to be dealt with.

Cheers guys,
Wally

Yeah i too prefer the original 'e30 smell' it has plus that of the newly trimmed leather seats, but mum got it for me as a present for getting my first car on the road so i couldn't say no lol

Cheers mate. Yeah my old man owns a European spare parts/car yard/mechanic/panel beating/painting shop so everything was done very well and exactly to my preferences. Straight ass body, awesome paint job and i got 15" BBS's to go on soon. So its gona look exactly like it did from factory if not cleaner :)

Some idiot put your steering wheel on wrong,

Other than that looks good, e30's do have a distinct smell don't they! Or is it just me?

Yeah mate they are extremely rare. I came into contact with one exactly like mine yesterday by coincidence, but nowhere near as clean. Australia was delivered some 325IS's as the top-of-the-range e30 since we never got the m3. There are a few lying around but their numbers are slowly decreasing and most aren't up to scratch. That's why ive completely restored my beast to stock and take great pride in it being one of the cleanest e30's in Aus.

Very nice indeed. You've done well to get it looking that clean, respect to you for keeping it standard as well. Insurance must be a hell of a lot cheaper in OZ if you can afford a 325is for your first car........Keep the pics coming.

What a pleasant suprise to see a young bloke with a completely standard proper car. When you see one like this it makes you wonder what goes on in the minds of people who commit horrible crimes under the auspices of "modding" and "personalising"
Remember peeps, less is more ! :)

Aye Youth. You know, the best car I ever 'ad were a Mark 1 Lotus Cortina, eeh by gum I paid 500 pound for it before the war when Milk was tuppence a loaf thou knows and in them days you could carve a new crankshaft for a Morris 8 from a block o' wood and still 'ave enough left over to carve a new pair of shoes........

WOW! What a transformation! Also one of the better retrims i've seen, its quite hard to replicate the original BMW leather.

wow proper nut and bolt job, did you strip the car right down? I'm guessing the aussie climate is hard on the paint and leather but kind in terms of rust and horrible rotton crusty bits.

Looks to have had some mega effort getting into this state nice one.
