Daryll's Back - 1989 325i Convertible updated July 1

Well after 1 year of selling my 325i 2dr and owning a fantastic gas guzzling E38, I am now the owner of an E30 again.

I paid well over what the car is actually worth, but I see it as a keeper and don't mind spending a few quid on it over the years.

Image

The Azev's will be replaced with Alpina reps soon ( I know it's controversial)

Image

All the kit needs to come off and go back on as David Blunkett put this kit on (I'm not even sure if it's a convertible Tech II kit the fit is that poor)

What colour is that Daryll? Looks Sterling..

Keep the Azevs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its low, but not excessively arse dragging.. Though does have a little nasty reverse rake :P

Auto or manual?

Nice, welcome back

Give me a nod when you're parting with the Azevs, I've been asked to move on my Keskins and am looking for some new rims to ride on soon, having had two sets before I'm quite familiar with the Azev A's.

Car looks great in silver, very nice indeed.

Fozz.

Thanks Jhonno,

The silver is going to be a Jodie Marsh to colour match. It's Lamborghini Silver! Its got a bit of a sparkle in the sunlight but it's going to need a respray as the paint around the screen has already cracked, the front bumper is scraped to hell and there are a lot of imperfections.

Fozz,

Cheers mate. The Azevs will need a refurb as the laquer has gone on all 4 I think. They'll be in the parts section as soon as the wife signs off the alpina reps (Sorry Jhonno I love my Alpina's) :D

I could be wrong here, but the problem with your kit might be that it's a tech 2 (facelift) kit on a prefacelift car? It's got prefacelift rear lights anyway.

If cabs are the same as saloons, it means that there was probably some bodging involved with getting the front and rear bumpers on, and therefore the fit of the kit is directly related to the skill of the bodger in question.

Council deviant!!! :P

I did think it looked a funny colour.. Thought it might the light or camera. But that would explain it! What colour you gonna spray it?

The bodger, or blind fook as I like to call him, that fit the kit was probably high on thinners when doing this one.

I make you right though Al, the door pods for example are too short and the side skirt clips aren't worth the plastic they are made from. I'll get some pictures up tonight of the kit in close up for you all to laugh I mean look at.

Jhonno - I think I'll keep it the same colour as it does look very spandango in the sun!

Eddie, Don't you worry fella, I'll be keeping it the same colour but I'm going to get someone who doesn't use a water pistol to spray cars with to respray it.

Neil, my foreign friend. How are you? I came across the envelope the other day you sent the headlight wiper blades in. Do you remember writing "Bell End" on the envelope and up side down messages? lol

That's probably why Ray Charles was flewn in to spray it, saving money after the cost of the paint itself.
This one is definately a keeper so hopefully the money spent on it will be worth it in the long run.

If not I'll give David Blunketts dog a good kicking to make me feel better. :D

Nice looking! I always liked the Mtech 2 kit.

Being from the USA..and doing an extensive restoration (Concours prep type)
I'll still take lots of criticism from you guys because of my 1988 faclift style body with aluminum big bumpers.
(Oh and the fact I skipped over swapping for new plastic euro bumpers...when I purchased my brand new 1988 only big aluminum bumpers...heh. I like them. Most don't. hehe.
