hi ya all... its been a long time since i,ve had the chance to sit down on the computer and let you guys know what i have been up to...i have seen so many different styled e30s on here and i haven't owned my e30 cab for long and it started its life off looking a bit shabby. so i knew that i had an ideal blank canvas to work on...
...
Image

so after taking the side skirts off and and putting on the new wheels i still wasnt satisfied... so then the bolt of lightening hit me and i decided to do something i have always wanted to do.... create something that stands out in a crowd. so after a few nights of chatting it over with a couple of pals i decided what the hell i got the car so cheap what can i lose.

so to start with up changed all the front pannel to the late looking style... as i really didnt like the look of just the mtec 1 bumper so after a couple of hours all the front was on and look tones better....

Image
Image
Image

my next task was getting rid of the door strips i had seen a few people smooth them out the the lip but i wanted the car to look smooth so out can the weilder 56 holes to be percice hahaha this included the boot lid where the mtec 2 spoiler use to live.. this i have to admit was a nightmare  but i had to get this done before i could start with the body work..
Image
Image

once the strips were done then the badge had to go...

Image
Image
Image

after a weeks of sanding the body filling the little dents here and there and finding the car had about 11 different colours underneath it was starting to take shape.. and with some nights going through to days it felt like we was getting no where hahaha but we pushed on...

Image
Image

and by far the best tools for the job.....

Image

so after three weeks of prepping the car was ready to be primered and buy this stage i still hadnt decided on the paint colour for the car so i had a lot on my plate haha..
Image
Image
Image
Image

when the primer was on the car looked great smooth all over and looking fresh..
Image
Image

Image

next was the silver base coat. and as you can see was looking good and loads of people said i should leave it silver....

Image
Image
Image

but i decided to use the lines of the car to two tone it i tried to go for a colour the would match my blue roof to the best that i could so i went for avis blue and when it was layed on the car it looked even better than i expected as the silver really brought out the glitter in the blue...

Image
Image
Image

but what happens now my shock some of you mature standard e30 owners and you may all have your own views... but i love it so after a week or so i came back with another idea the boys were going mad at this point but as i said i wanted something that would stand out in a croud and as i couldnt decide weather to paint the car all silver, or all blue, or all orange i decided to use all three and this is what happened....

Image
Image

and finally after 6weeks of solid work..with all my blood sweat and tears  i have created this...its not quiet finished yet but seeing as most of the bits were at my house and not the garage i decided to bring it home and start building it back together and give it a good polish....

Image
Image
Image
Image
(NOT THE BEST LIGHT)
i know its not gonna be to everyones taste but thats not for me to worry about its still got a few bits that need finishing. eg next weekend the leather is going the same colour orange as the lines, i also have to do include a 60mm drop all round, new exhaust system, plus im missing a few things such as side indicators these are my jobs for next weekend... , and i have my wheels on order but i have a six week wait as they are coming from the states this is the frustrating part i have spent weeks waiting for my car back haha

Image

well i hope you enjoyed the pics feel free to add comments... ill keep you posted on the new bits as the arrive...... no haters please!!!!!

huggy bear!! make way for the DAG!!!!

that orange just spoils it really, maybe if it was just a pin stripe along the swage line it would look alright, but there is just too much, and it looks very much like an after thought.... remove that, and it would look awesome :)

get some blue or sliver/grey leather to match :P

Got to admit, The orange does it no favours what so ever imo!

Be interested to see the finished item. May still pull it off.

Well, at least you won't have to notify the DVLA of a change in colour. Was it the herb that brought on the orange stripes?

That will need hydraulics, or a 100mm slam, plenty of chrome and it will rock.

Now, about the tech 1 goodies?? winkeye

i toyed with loads of ideas and i didnt wanna end up with an e30 that just looks like eveyone elses ( no offence) plus i believe that your can shold explain your personallity... and thats what i achieved... its still a bit of a way to being finished....

im currently working on a full length bench for the front seats... that will fold forward as one..

i knew i was gonna get mixed reactions but thanks for all ya feedback.... give me a couple more months and ill be on the scene at the meets

the gearbox blowing up is a real set back cos i cant get the car anywhere i have had to cancel my custom exhast fitting and had to re book the fitting of the lowering springs.... but pay day is oh so near now hahahaha

Rosc0PColtrane im sorry mate but all the bits are sold only have an m-tec rear spoiler lets... by the way is free to anyone that wants it!!!

I got my set from a chap in Reading who has now packed up & retired

my set are 17X8's, & only just fit with no problems....

Make sure you get the right offset wheels, i could not tell you what the exact offset info for my ones are as the chap from Reading did all the measuring & ordering & phone calls to the States....

I have heard of a couple of local lads getting it all wrong & then getting lumbered with the wheels, as they cant be returned to the states...
