Update time :D

Well after having the hood in my loft for just over a year now I decided to take it back to the professionals to fit..

I considered doing it myself but could see myself smashing something up in a fit of rage with the fiddly-ness of it :snigger:

There was heavy traffic on my way up there with gridlocked roads for about 2 and a half hours and the M30 didn't skip a beat! 8)

The fan cut in and out when it should..smooth idling/ running so im a very happy guy right now!! :D

Took it on the M25 on my way home to give it a good clear out and man does that thing fly! just tickling the accelerator was enough for it to dig down and pull away effortlessly!

I now know my 5 year wait is justified! 8)

Anyway enough talk here is the result:

What a difference a new hood has made to the cars appearance!! Looked like Freddy Krueger had been at the old one! :chuckle:

Great job there, that hood looks amazing.

Glad your enjoying the effortless power from the m30

It's a great conversion, the m52 feels very factory fast, like it should be there but the m30 really feels like someone is taking the pee pee by putting in a hugely powerful engine in A small car.

Enjoy that wall or torque

Thanx guys! :D

Jim: The torque is amazing mate! Atm with the 14" bbs with balloon tyres I cant put the throttle pedal down more than a quarter without spinning up the rears :chuckle:

Looking forward to the summer and some different wheels! 8)

Well I went to fit it a little while ago to be surprised by the fact that the person who fitted the spoiler on it atm GLUED it on!

So I will probably be giving it in to the bodyshop at work sometime soon and getting them to fit it and spray the insert as it doesn't look the same colour..

Also went for a bit of a spirited drive around the country roads near my house winkeye I wasnt as "spirited" as id like to be as i still have the 14" bbs with the baloon spec tyres :chuckle: so steering is still a bit lacklustre.

..but all will be right soon 8)

Love the videos uploaded. Normally camcorders don't pick up sound too well but seems like you have a decent piece of kit.

How gorgeous is this weather we have finally been lucky to get?!

Couldn't waste an opportunity so yesterday I woke up nice and early and enjoyed every bit of that sunshine! 8)

Started off by giving the Beast a good wash and polish, and finished her off with a bit of Poor boys black hole VERY happy with the result! Really good stuff and I'd recommend it if you have a dark car!

Then of course I finally put the hood down and took it for its first spin topless as an M30 and wow what a difference that engine makes to the enjoyment of topless driving!!

Small update time!

Took the beast to work yesterday and Sorted out the tracking and replaced the Gearbox mounting bushes as they were split and also the knackered Rear AntiRollBar link arms.

Also replaced these completely shagged Speakers with some Sony's

Also Bought one of these bad boys as i had a manually operated aerial before..

Love the oldschool-ness of the automatic aerial :o:

Plenty more to come so stay tuned Peeps! :thumb:

I love how (thanks to the zone) I was actually questioning whether it was a factory aerial hole when I was fitting it  lol

Even Hirschmann themselves added it in their instructions to help with the confusion! :snigger:

So I've been quite busy over this weekend with the beast!

First I started off by fitting the tech I spoiler..and it was a hard decision to make tbh as the smooth lines of the spoiler-less boot actually looked better then I thought it would :o:

Image

Image

After a bit of measuring / a bit more measuring / then some drilling this was the end result 8) winkeye
(Also replaced the BMW badge as the old one was knackered)

Image

Image

Image

Then i noticed the slick on the driveway which at first glance i thought was water..but when it didn't evaporate like the rest of the water i walked over and smelt the familiar smell of ATF :?

Image

Image

i knew my steering rack was leaking slightly but didnt realise it was this bad, the steering rack gaitor had popped off revealing the extent of the leak 8O They were both filled to the brim with power steering fluid from the inner seals

I had planned to get the E36 Rack on soon but i was going to make a trip to Northampton the next day so needed a fix quick.. Thank god for the scrapper! 8) I made light work of removing it and replacing the defective rack.. I was in full mad mode so no pics of me replacing it but it is done 8)

and i made it!! I met a few of my mates at Ace Cafe nice and early and we made the trip up to northampton for the "Early edition 38" meet..which was quite shite tbh but it was a good day out nonetheless :D

Image

Image

Image

Image

Also made a stop off at the pod to see my mate but it was ford day so we didn't stay long :snigger:
