Looks decent, yes id give it a whirl, what you have to think is if you go for just a pot of megs polish its a good idea to get polishing wheels anyway as it makes the job a whole lot easier and that polishing wheel can be cleaned.
You are lucky as yours are already half polished.
I had to get these shiney

But hours of hard work.....

Yes, they had been hidden in a cellar for years in Germany and was a right nightmare to bring back to life.
Once they were down to a wet sanded state, ie around 1000grit the megs did the rest.
Id never ever ever never ever ever ever do another set.

Know what you mean. I spent days flatting back a set of Minor van wheels which had several coats of paint on, and they were steelies so I was able to use a rotary disc wheel, paint stripper and scrapers, so goodness only knows what it's like to do a set of alloy cross-spokes with indentations...leeparkes wrote: Id never ever ever never ever ever ever do another set.

My updates are getting few and far between again as the weathers been so shite recently!
Got the interior built back up again after annoying my mum with the carpet infront of the heater for the last few weeks
lol
Finally had some time to spray the inner skins with the fertan getting it all into the nooks and crannys!
This stuff stinks!! Also makes it look like its actually rusty in the pics lol

Also good seeing you again today Andy! Looking forward to next summer seeing alot more of the zoners at the meets!

Well i went out to work on the beast today, my intentions being to take off the doorcards and FERTAN the inner skins..
I stood there for a minute with her glinting in the sunshine and thought "F*@K THIS!! Im going for a drive...topless"
lol
Considering my tax runs out at the end of this month and it will be SORN until next summer i couldn't resist taking it for one last spin..
It will probably be the last time i drive that silky smooth M20 cruiser
and i gave it a good send off lol

Ill be honest i FROOOZZEEE! lol But it was well worth it! Enjoyed every minute..i can only imagine what kind of fun im going to have with the M30 in there!!

Your answer is to have the heating on, wind deflector fitted, but more importantly, heated seats

Got to work on removing the 3.5 today seeing as the sun finally decided to show itself

Like i said before to all the peeps who've been following my 3.5 project, the guy who did the conversion had a cable tie fetish bigtime!

If all goes well i hope to have the engine and box out tomorrow then the frag-fest begins on the rest of the car!

So the day FINALLY came to remove the lump from its rusty tomb! i now understand why people call these boat anchors! what a heavy lump of metal!
I did buy a load leveller but the chains it came with had some wierd shaped hooks attached which made it useless to me, so i took a chance and went for it anyway. ill be honest i really didnt think it was going to take the weight just on the front hook but i couldnt see a rear hook other than above the gearbox
going to get some chains and clamps for getting it into the cabby because im not risking that again lol
Heres my day in pictures:
Started off by removing the prop, gearbox mounts, gear linkages, and exhaust and heres some more cable tie action

Hmm..
getting it out took minutes compared to building the crane up lol

There we go

and here we go. . .

Easy does it..

My arse was well and truly twitching here

On the home stretch! !

and thats how you do that...

as she stands, ready for a strip down/ clean up and spray job!
