There's boring, interesting and utter shite. This falls into the latter category!Sanchez wrote:Agreed but if every was OEM on here it would be a more boring place.Blitz wrote:Each modification you have done has made it look worse. Hi Guys.
A bit of a Marmite car lol
Some like, some dont,,,,,,I dont mind as just like someone said earlier, my car, time and money.
I do get a little bored quite easily and once it was "finished" (when it had the bbs wheels) i used it for 6 months until the tax ran out then left it for 5 months unused.
I dont normally keep cars long but decided if i was to keep it i needed to do more.
Driving a totally stock looking car forever would bore the shite out of me so its going to keep changing while i still own it.
Ive been thinking about getting it ready for paint (keeping it dolphin grey for originality lol) but just lately thinking of changing that too....who knows.
At the end of the day, this was a 4 pot auto with a knackered box with a flip of a coin wether it was going scrap yard or not.
More pics to come as and when things happen, if your eyes can handle it

People have said he's done well where as others have said his car looks like shite, ruined etc but he's kept his cool and not sulked or spat is dummy out.
Good on you Mills!

Yes, agreed, right attitude, but car looks shite and I was one that said it was yours to do with whatever you like.
Obviously, from your VW experience you have a pretty thick skin. This is to be applauded.

I do have thick skin and I do not take to heart or worry if people like (or not) what I do with my own car, using my own time and money.
That is though, the second time you have said in the same post, that this car "is shite"
Im assumimg you have an awesome E30, liked by everyone and that you have done it all yourself etc etc.
Obviously this is the internet and every word etc can be taken the wrong way but surely there are other ways of saying you do not like what ive done with the car without making it sound like your having a go.
At the very least your car is shite, "in my opinion"comes over better.
If I were to be face to face with someone I do not know and I said that something they had was shit, I would expect some sort of argument, it comes over worse on the internet, I believe its called "keyboard warrior" If however I was to say to someone, I don't like it, totally different, maybe that's the problem with forums. because its not face to face think they can say/do what they like??
Anyway, thanks for replying, It keeps my post at the top.

Haha. My car is shite - plenty have said so. Doesn't bother me, is it starting to bother you now?
I've done "bits" on my car, but I don't like getting my hands dirty...
Do what you want to with yours mate - keep the pics coming and entertaining us, but you know posting on a forum is going to attract comments. Me saying your car looked shite was me being polite.
. And I'd say it to your face.

Could do with having some springs fitted to it, but apart from that I can't see a lot wrong with this! If the arches are widened in the way I think they are, then it's very cleverly done, with the body 'lines' flowing nicely around the car.
No its not getting to me now lol.
If you think it looks shit, you should try driving it, boneshaker comes to mind and don't even attempt to drive over one of those triple drains in the road, it nearly 360's lol. My wife affectionately calls it "the death trap"
I have no problem with anyone saying anything about my car, its just an internet/forum thing where people say stuff and then a post about a car on a forum for that specific car gets personal due to the "typed word" being interpreted as something different then everyone moans at how shit that forum is.
The pics will keep coming as and when I do more stuff its just that people type/say stuff in a way that sounds personal to the o.p. when it can be written in a way not to therefore making forums a nicer place to be.

It does require some stronger rear springs and the fronts are coilovers so adjustable to any height. They are down at present to match the rear but it is still very much "work in progress"
The arches are the original with only a slit being made leaving the edges still connected to keep the lines. It still has the original "lip" underneath by the tyres and will not cut your fingers off if rubbed. the inner wing is then tapped up to the new height and seam welded all the way round looking as factory as possible.

Lowered to that level was always going to compromise on the ride quality.... Mine was similar, and your wife is right. I couldn't afford to take my eyes off the road for a second. However, it is now sitting on B4's and Eibachs and actually feels nice to drive.
Apart from being a bit "different" on the looks, why do you want to rattle your fillings every time you go out in it?

I don't know lol.
I have a disorder that makes me have to buy broken stuff, go miles to collect them, spend money I haven't got buying bits I don't need and then spend many hours hurting myself to fit the stuff I bought earlier that I don't need to said broken thing I brought.
Then, once its done, get bored because its all fixed and either sell it to buy another broken thing or change the thing ive already fixed

Lol, now isn't this banter more friendly.........Gert_8 wrote:F uck knows theneedd wrote:not 15" keyboard warrior

My style 32's started off with 215/40/17s on the rear and 205/40/17s on the front but after everything settled we fitted the fronts to the rear and added 195/40/17s to the front.
Now with the 205s on the rear and 195s on the front it drives reasonably well for something that's scraping the ground to the point of avoiding cats eyes as they hit the sump.
It doesn't scrape the arches even with people in the back, it does however scrape on the road with no one but me in it if the road is anything but level.
Millsy
Why on earth would you want a car to do that/drive like that?!

To be fair, I didn't set out for it to be a cats eye scraper. It just progressed, bought as a real nice low mile 2 door non sunroof chromie, then a m52 converted sleeper. then a lowered style 32 dragger, now, who knows.
Its also just my "toy" car. I have a new shape transit as a daily and a VR6 as a normal car and am about to buy another "daily" this is for fun and Im enjoying it.

Gert you keyboard warrior!
Honestly your car sounds dangerous to drive if you can't even go over drains and like it shouldn't be on the road.
I have had some seriously low turds (can't fit a fag packet under the subframe low) but they have been lowered with thought into the suspension not just winding some coiloverzzz all the way down so you have no movement

Here we go again.
My car is dangerous. It shouldnt be using it on the road, its a death trap, bad me etc etc,
Not that ive upgraded it to M3 3.2 evo brakes, hubs, coilovers, compact rears when it was drums. Non vented fronts now vented etc etc.
Just goes to show how internet forums are interpreted.
Kind of shows my whole point, always wrong before proven right.
