I would rather have a 333i but that's my preferenceflamingjo-uk wrote: Someone asked if you'd have a 333i over an M3,

its a matter of personal choice.... a big lump in the front of an e30 will never be as balanced as this, but a big engine has the advantage of being smoother! you pays your money and takes your choice!e30topless wrote:I would rather have a 333i but that's my preferenceflamingjo-uk wrote: Someone asked if you'd have a 333i over an M3,![]()
this is a stunning example well done , it was worth the wait

I have done the M3 thing (a few times) and still prefer the big 6, like you say...it's personal choiceflamingjo-uk wrote:its a matter of personal choice.... a big lump in the front of an e30 will never be as balanced as this, but a big engine has the advantage of being smoother! you pays your money and takes your choice!e30topless wrote:I would rather have a 333i but that's my preferenceflamingjo-uk wrote: Someone asked if you'd have a 333i over an M3,![]()

hi andy, i'm in Leicester.Andy325i wrote:StunningWhere in the uk are you?
Andy

There is atrade off between fitting the 8's and 9's and not hitting the arches. These wheels actually came with these tyres but they are an ideal fit without rolling the arches.suchy wrote:Very nice car![]()
Don't like your stretched rubber though (impeeds performance also) but still a cool car
There looks like there is plenty of room to go wider on the rubber without fouling arches??flamingjo-uk wrote: There is atrade off between fitting the 8's and 9's and not hitting the arches. These wheels actually came with these tyres but they are an ideal fit without rolling the arches.

Looks are a bit deceiving! I have tried wider rubber as I had another set of wheels with that on and if you carry any paasengers the arches rub. like i said its a bit of a compromise but the handling is superb with the eibach pro kit and the bilstein B6 dampers, so it sits about 25mm lower.suchy wrote:There looks like there is plenty of room to go wider on the rubber without fouling arches??flamingjo-uk wrote: There is atrade off between fitting the 8's and 9's and not hitting the arches. I was lucky to have a go in one of those a few years ago and despite it being faster than the M3 it couldnt replicate the balance of the smaller engined car. The laws of physics cannot be overcome it seems!Felix79 wrote:For me the B6S is the perfect mix of M3 and 6 pot engine
Very nice example.

Just checked mine again and the rear wheels are 9j but wrapped in 245/35/17 to maintain the proper rolling diameter. I think the design of the Goodyear Eagle F1 tyre makes it look more of a stretch than it actually is! Incidentally, the B6S that I had a go in a few years back actually had the arches rolled just to take the standard 16" Alpinas with a slightly wider tyre.suchy wrote:Ahhhh, yeah I have the same problem so I don't take passengers in the back. Mind you, I'm running 9J rears but I don't have the luxury of M3 wings.
Looks can be deceiving- this is mine, only rubs over bumps if someone was in the back and looks a damn sight closer than yours? 9J running 225/45/16
Very nose heavy from what others have told me about them. Still I only drive mine in a relaxed way so I could live with the comprimiseflamingjo-uk wrote:I was lucky to have a go in one of those a few years ago and despite it being faster than the M3 it couldnt replicate the balance of the smaller engined car. It was a bit nose heavy and with the extra power to the rear wheels could dance a little to say the least! At the end of the day it is a compromise and its down to taste on which way you go.Felix79 wrote:Very nose heavy from what others have told me about them. hey, i dont have a lot of pics of the interior or the engine bay, tho i need to do some work on the bay to get it looking as nice as the rest of the car. If I find any more I will put them up. cheers!kieran325 wrote:Any more pics of the engine bay and interior![]()
Looks lovely

just realised that the first three pics are after the Eibach Pro/Bilstein B8 setup and the rest are before and with the car parked on an uneven drive. this makes the ride height look wrong! i agree with you about the tyre thing....after all I have 245 on a 9 inch rim so how much wider would you want to go, and besides I can still carry passengers! thanks for the tip about the badges!harry_p wrote:i had 235 40 on my 9in rears and they looked similar to yours, so maybe it is just the tyre design making them look a little more stretched.
it looks fine to me anway, it's only very mild, none of the stupid vw scene stuff like 195s on a 9in
Ahh I see now, yes it does look different in the first three pics. Are you really running 245's on a 9" rim?!! Mine are 225's on a 9" and don't look any different but yeah tyre designs do vary a bitflamingjo-uk wrote: just realised that the first three pics are after the Eibach Pro/Bilstein B8 setup and the rest are before and with the car parked on an uneven drive. this makes the ride height look wrong! i agree with you about the tyre thing....after all I have 245 on a 9 inch rim so how much wider would you want to go, and besides I can still carry passengers! thanks for the tip about the badges!
