I've tried to look for a 3.5" to 3" 45degree elbow reducer but ive been unsuccessful in finding one at a decent price! It does sound nice though!

Yeah, the problem is the length of the silicone reducer. if the airbox isnt in that position, the reducer doesnt sit very well.

Not at the moment fella, i'd like to try and make this work as well as possible first. I'll give you a shout though if i decide to part with it

Like an s50 one with the s50 still attached on the other end?

What bigger maf would fit then? Are m52 mafs bigger and still compatible with my ecu?

What a shit weekend
Friday - crane blew a hydraulic hose in the car park at work. Coming out of work, litterally rested my foot on the accelerator coming around a corner slowly. Span the car straight into the curb - 1x big curb mark in my wheel
Shut the bonnet on my m52 airbox - cracked part of it
Driving tonight, mid corner and one of the brackets snapped on my recaros (im not a heavy fucker either before anybody says). Fucked off to say the least
On the plus side, finally had some spare time yesterday so i treated the car to a proper exterior valet using mezerna and chemical guys kit. the car looks totally different now - i highly recommend the mezerna and chemical guys combo for anybody with a red car.
still not happy though

The postman has just been with some goodies
I've finally got a decent size airfilter from an evo 7
The photo is the itg filter from the evo, the k+n tiny jobbie one and a central locking unit for size comparison!

I'm looking into getting a new set of wheels or refurbing the 15"bbs's ive had for ages. Im in need of new tyres - im fed up of the ditchfinders that were on the car when i bought it. So if i can find a local refurber i'll get them refurbed with some toyo t1r's

Paul regarding wheel refurbs.
Have a word with DavieP as he found somewhere local recently but im sure he said they were 50 per rim??
Also you know the Calypso Cab round the corner from mine?
Well Derek the owner had a set done last year although he only uses them for shows etc.
The finish is superb although they did get sent back the first time to be redone as he wasnt happy with something on one of them.
It was redone and think his total came to £240?
I could get details if you like?
ITG looks plenty big enough, big improvement on the tiny K&N.
You still got the first filter we fitted, the bigger cone type?
If so wanna flog it me to put on the one im doing now??
Happy xmas mate

Merry chrismas to you too mate! Bet ryan is really excited about santa coming!!
£50 a rim isnt too bad. The tyres will come to £200 alone so i dont want to spend a fortune on refurbing the wheels when for the same price i could buy some hartges with tyres!
If you do see derek could you get me the details? No rush at the moment though. Wheel Wizards where ben got his borbets done is no longer trading
(my fault for taking so long i suppose!)
Regarding the metal gauze cone filter- let me know when you're in and i'll pop round. Im off work till about the 4th of jan so im pretty much free all the way up until then.

After owning a 318iS and now this m50. I would say save up until you are 21 then give your e30 the engine it really deserves. When i was phoning around for insurance quotes when i was 20 they all said "trust me, you dont want to know the price of insuring it when you are 20 - wait until you are 21!"

I'll pop over on the day after boxing day then (sunday) IF i can make it up the hill if its icyeko wrote: Day after boxing day ill be out doing the car in the garden if your not busy then?

Got a PM on the way too tony

It's looking a bit better now

Eko, do you have a jubilee clip for the cone filter? i've had to use one off the metal gauze filter to fit my itg one. I can pick one up on the way through if not

Im still torn about the strut brace. I do still quite like it white because it stands out nicely without looking too crap. When i look at this photo i like it in white

Still alot of stuff i need to do to it but havent had the time / weather to do it
The engine bay is only as good as the installer

Paul, Where did you get the quote for 4 Toyos for 200 notes........ The last time I got a quote they were 72 each fitted and thats was for 205/50 15's. 16" ones just get worse
Gaffa tape is like "the force" - it has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together.
There's nothing that shouts "Poor Workmanship" more than wrinkles in the Gaffer tap

205/50/15's are £200 for 4 + £10 delivery From camskill + fitting (depending where I take them
) can't say much more because i'm a tad pissed. thank god for predictive text lol

Spent the morning washing the car. I highly recommend chemical guys wet mirror finish! It feels like the car pulls alot harder now with the itg filter too
And it sounds the tits
Few self indulgance photos
(car is wet in places becuase it pissed down just as i finished washing the car
)

It's all in the shine

Look at the gap in the front arch
But i washed the wheels for the first time since owning the car!

Yeah I do. If you look somewhere on the first two pages you will see the fan between the front grill and the radiator.

I have much admiration for this car, it has come together very well and that engine bay looks factory +
Thanks lee
I took the car to the previous owners this morning - he loves it
Anyway. Not long been home after seeing skipunda... and yes you can fit 7 alloys in an e30

That brings the grand total of 17 alloys in my posession... my mum isn't happy
Can't imagine why

Car looks mint mate.
I'm currently sourcing parts to do this conversion myself, in my 1.8 M40.
If I get stuck, I hope you don't mind me asking you a few questions.
Good luck with the car and keep up the good work.
Cheers,
Stu

Parts needed:
M40/M20 ignition coil with high voltage lead
M40/M20 ignition coil with high voltage lead
Cheers bud. I'd be more than happy to give you advice. I wouldnt want to use the m40 gearbox though if you are doing a 2.8 if you are thinking about that. I don't think it would take the extra torque that the m52 puts out!

Not sure if I can use the gearbox that would normally be on the E36 328i?

you can use the gearbox from the e36 328, I ran an m42b18 gearbox on all my 24v conversions including an m50b25, m52b28 and m52b30. I never had a problem until an m20b25 clutch was fitted and slipped straight away which was on the m52b30
Bollocks to this 24v scrap!

This car is crying out for an oil cooler grill, will those Hartges be finding their way onto it?
The 3 litre clutch is an LUK cover with a solid centre plate bert, I reckon it would have been ok with a proper sprung centre plate. Nevertheless, paddle clutch FTW

I've already got an oil cooler grill dan, what you can't see very well is that the front valance is all dented in so the cooler grill gets
very bent when it's fitted.
The hartges will be making their way on all in good time
very nearly bought some exip wheels instead off Germany eBay though!
