had this just over a month now and still not a chance to post any decent pics (fooking weather!) wanted the car since i saw it a man 2 doors up from me bought it when i was 16 then sold it a year or 2 later to put towards a house deposit then my mate bought it planning to keep it..... he emigrated to australia a year and a halflater for the foreseeable future! i knew it was sat in his garage so made him an offer over emails and he accepted. f/s/h (mostly bmw, even the recent ones) every mot from new and a lot of other paperwork. 7 owners. its very clean and as far as i can tell no rust (had a little peek under the kit). im planning to return it to 100% standard and maybe lock it away in a garage in the near future.
when it came into my possesion it had bk reps :x lowered and some sort of exhaust system, which looks standard and is quiet if you werent in the know. Also best until last the infamous wooden steering wheel which im having great fun ebaying!
so far ive replaced the dash (small crack above glovebox) , mtec 2 steering wheel in very good condition thanks to adit. standard wheels back on.
im now trying to source original springs, battery cover w/ first aid and warning triangle and fire extinguisher. possibly a standard exhaust system.
anyway pictures! the ones with the reps are when i first got her and the later are first thing in the morning before i left for work! brrrrrrrr
any comments/ advice welcome. :D

Good that your going for standard mate as not that many left these days.
The rear bench is unfortunately missing the centre arm rest thou. Some very late Sports did not come with this arm rest from what i have seen but yours would of had one on a G plate.
Are you sticking with that exhaust or getting a Boysen?

thats what i meant! but theirs never been an arm rest there. theres no cut out for it or anything? when i research it a bit more and when its not blisteringly cold i will invest in an o.e.m exhaust, it take it thats a boysen?

Have you got a "vehicle specification enquiry" from your dealer?
This will give you the original spec. of your car and the arm rest will be listed on that (as option 497) 8)

You are correct.Boysen was a manufacturer of original BMW exhausts. The quality is great and my Sport is still on the one fitted when new ! They sound really nice with these imho :D

That is one gorgeous sport if i may say so, my eyes were drawn straight to the sunroof though, is the seal hanging out on the nearside? If i owned that car id just keep it in my garage and polish it to death :) minty mint.

Maybe the intrerior isn't original to that car.

What does the trim say on the print out Rob 10?

Looking at the pics i would say that that is not orginal BMW leather. Its a retrim.

As CSL has said you car should have a centre arm rest so i guess someone bought a second hand, retrimed interior at some point for the car.

Nice ride! Besides the leather, I believe I have seen the m Tech 2 sport with a cloth striped interior in Germany and no pull down armrest in the back seat

it could quite easily have had the seat taken out of another sport due to damage, a careless fag end or dirty children!

Its a retrim just as the one sold by Hartge H27 (Ian) was.

I can spot a retrim a mile off.

This is my interior bellow. Compare the piping on both seats and you can see that mine is neater. Also the biggest give away is the seat bases. Notice how the bases on my front seats kind of pucker where the leather is pulled in tight. On yours the seat base leather does not do this and appears loose. The back rests also pucker on my seats where as your are flat. The bases on yours probably started of like this to but with use the leather has become loose.

Its clues like this that give it away being a retrim.

I just noticed another thing, your tilt handles are the wrong way round. The longer levers should be on the outside and only one short lever should be on the inside of the passenger seat. You drivers seat has a handle on the inside, there shouldn't be one.
