had a good day at it today. had a hole in drivers footwell so welded a plate in welder is an ass but it done the job. got the wing off. had to drop front of sump and squeze in a bit of silicon to stop a little leak. made and fitted a handle to the bonnet for lifting it off. took wing mirror off. just waiting on wing, mirror, bumper and valance, once there adapted and fitted i think its mot time winkeye

Sorry but it has to be said that your totally bonkers, however, its people as bonkers as you that make this country great. That there MOT man gonna have a fit when he see's wot you brung him! Just to get it running is an acomplishment especially for a young un like yourself, more power to your elbow. Whatever you do, don't give up on any other crazy ideas you have. We need people like you more than ever nowadays.

im pleased with how its gone im 28 years old and havnt got a days college behind me. the only gcse i got was 1 u !
always been interested in engines since i was 10. had my first car when i was 11 a 4x4 fiat panda farm rager winkeye

id say im about 90 % self taught from common sense and books and 10 % from questioning a few top mechanics in there fields.
the main thing is for me just believe in yourself and have a go. common sense goes a long way in most things in life imo. :D
tbh all the pre electronic control stuff is pretty much the same basic principal.

prime example when i cranked the vm engine over with injector pipes off no 3 injector was blowing compression out of the injector inlet, so i ground a washer down as a shim to put the tip at the same pressure as the others and works perfect winkeye

i doubt it would of been so easy with a modern injector though.

well was at the yard today sorting alternator for the cosworth and had couple of hours on the bm. got bonnet vent on and cut up and fitted front valance. bottom of front splitter should sit about level with the bottom of the rad mounting. gonna have to cut ends of front bumper so they just meet the side of the rad then make a frame to sit round the rad that bolts to the bumper corner pieces winkeye mesh in front of rad and painted so it looks like a huge bmw grill :D
