how do all,
i've had a 318is for a couple of years now as a rally car and i fancied having a road going e30 too, so i went and found myself a nice 325i it's an 87 model and is in excellent condition. one of the previous 3 owners worked in bmw and bought a load of stuff using his trade account, everything seems to be new and it even came with a roll of genuine bmw cloth which he had the seats recovered in! thought you may like a looksee. (nothing to do with me wanting to show off at all

)

Another CHROMIE!

I just love a chromie!
Needs a Mtec 1 steering wheel though imo! Also needs the M badge on the grill taking off!

That car is a dead ringer for Caprirob's. Same colour, same interior, same engine and same year!
Looks tidy.

cheers misters, yeah shes a straight un, i saw her and had to buy it there and then, the interior is actuall slightly darker than it appears in the pictures more brown rather than white it's just the camera making it look that way. i actually quite like the standard steering wheel (shoot me for saying), as i've had a couple of tech 1's and as for the m badge your right theres no accounting for taste, it was on there when i bought it i just haven't taken it off yet. cheers

The SE/Lux wheel is fine. It's the plastic fantastic 4 spoke poverty spec one that I detest. Just horrid.
Looks a really nice, straight car in a good period colour. Suprised its got keep fit windows though.

i actually quite like the fact that it has keep fit windows, nice and retro, and it had keep fit steering until i put an e36 power rack on the other day.

yeah i plan to keep her original, i've got the rally car for when i want a skid and this is my day to day transport, i might do a few more subtle mods here and there, i fitted an lsd the other day too but nothing to detract from the looks of the original. i may be fitting 15inch bbs wheels onto her though some time in the future. oh and i put my heated seat in also the one ii took out of a mondeo, can't be doing without that on cold mornings.

Please dont bastardise your nice chromie with a seat from a mondeo. You can get heated seats in E30's and all the parts needed to convert normal ones to heated are still availavle new. The loom, switches and elements are all you need and the hardest part is fitting the elements to the seat as they have to be striped down. The loom is just plug and play.

thats what i did, i took the heating element out of a mondeo seat and put it into my e30 seat, so if you loked at it the car looks exactly the same except for the extra switch on the dashboard; (i used a heated rear window switch for now).
cheers

how do again,
got a poser for you chaps, whats your opinion? i fancy putting a set of wipers on the headlights of this 325i, the set of headlights in question are smilie versions. do you think that putting the smilie ones on would look odd or out of place? and also do you know if the lights are any better? as in how they light up the road?
cheers
Kev
recap- would smilies on a chromie look ok?
- which headlights give off the best light assuming both lenses are in good condition ?

Some people will moan about smileys on a metal bumper car but they dont look that out of place.
They are marginaly better than the early ones but with smileys you can do HID conversion which is a dramatic improvement over both.
Go for the 4300k ones as these are bright white and not council/chav blue/purple.

Also metal bumper cabs which were made upto 90 and had smileys as well. They dont look out of place at all.

hi all, perhaps i'll put the smilies on then, i've always got the other ones there if i don't like the look of them.
why can't you put HID's in the older type lights? i'm planning to put some in in the near future and wasn't aware they weren't compatible?
i'm not that fussed on the blue type hid's either myself and will be going for the white type, cheers for pointing out they're 4300k's.
i paid a bit over the odds for it but it's worth it as she really is remarkably straight, what do you reckon shes's worth to sell out of curiosity?
