E30 Zone

This was our first official meeting. Since we are one of the only two countrys were the 320is was sold, and since BMW is now running in the WTCC (and in Portuguese Touring Car Championship) with the 320si, we decided to create something special.

We thought of the connection between the racing past of the 320is model, and the present racing history of the 320si. So we decided to get as many 320is (and others e30s) as possible to support the 320si team racing here.

And the result was this, hope you like it.

Saw my first E30 320iS in January in Rua de Gomes Freire in Lisbon on a business visit there. Superb condition, would have loved to have driven it home to UK! Was there, parked in different positions over a few days, was it one of your cars?

If you have some numberplate I can tell you if it was one of us. We have a private and secure registry for all our E30s numberplates and the ones we saw on the road.

Sadly, I didn't have my camera with me. Didn't see too many E30's on the road in Lisbon, seems like we still have many more a daily drivers in the UK than anywhere in Europe. But you have the 320is, very special indeed!

It´s possible because one of our members works there
If you saw it near a garden called Campo dos Mártires da Pátria, it´s not one of our cars but we invited the owner anyway

This was the only E30 I caught on film, as it were. It was parked up near the castle in Lisbon, looking a bit sorry for itself. Missed the 320iS I's seen the previous day.

Someone I know some years before, had one 320is 4 door too, just like that one, all regular, and did you know what lettering did he put in the boot?

316 without the "i", pretending to be the carburettor engine.

Out of curiosity, how much for the 4 door iS? Can't afford nothing just now but would love either form of one of these cars. Never seen a 4door model for sale, do they fetch as much as the 2door ones. Do many iS's come up for sale over there?

The owner is asking 7500 ┚¬uros for it. According to the info supplied by him, it has around 100 000kms on the clock.
Not much for sale but it can be found for sale from time to time. I think you can find more iS for sale in Italy

Thank you very much. The club began only in January so we have a long way for growing up and making better meetings. the next one is in September to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the E30.

A few months before I saw an ad in the Practical Classics magazine (we get it here too ), about a house selling only 320is in the UK. I tooked the photo, but sorry for the quality, since it is a mobile picture.

Maybe it can help you guys...

All they had in this ad was 320is, 5 of them.
