I only picked the car up on the way to silverstone so hadn't experienced a boosted m30 untill my first hour practice session, its mental!

Here's a video of the car at bailey performance dale fitted and mapped the megasquirt for me he's done an amazing job on both counts

he's a specialist in all things megasquirt give him a shout you can't go wrong!

Excellent video and build thread, thanks for sharing. Watched drifting for the first time yesterday at Castle Combe, and really enjoyed the skills on display.

One thing I was very keen to find out though, how do you guys keep the engines vaguely cool? My N/A M30 struggles in traffic let alone a big forced induction one working hard and bouncing off the rev limiter all the time.

Martin.

What rad i you using?

I ran my na m30 e30 with an e34 535i rad and a cheap 12v fan on a switch for about 12 months and only got hot after a proper 2 or 3 hour pasting!

are you sure youve bled it properley also the return pipe on the header tank sometimes blocks up,

Im now using a nissan s14 alloy rad with custom front end and the same cheapo fan,

Interesting, thanks for sharing. If that worked for your drift car, then there is definately something wrong with my cooling system.

I have a 6 month old E32 735i aircon rad and a big volvo electric cooling fan. Only possible difference is my car is an auto and thus part of the rad also acts as a gearbox oil cooler.

enjoyed seeing(and hearing) you out with this at llandow this weekend.
real shame about those tractor tyres mullering the bumper and rad (how did you get it running again,i thought it was done for after that impact!) looked cool with the lights and camera around it for the photoshoot too, look forward to seeing it in print
