I had the misfortune of nearly being wiped out by a Mini Cabrio driver at Snetterton recently. His lack of etiquette was inexcusable, especially considering we were in the advanced group. We were going to have words when we returned to the pits but fate dealt a hand...................

Scary stuff, sadly with the increase in track day popularity more people who are less versed in track manners are attending.

One of the funniest things about it is he is using a Mini Convertible on a track day.. With the roof down!

He should have been black flagged, they tell them in the briefing ITS NOT A RACE. Keep to the right when being overtaken. Well justice.

he should have seen several blue flags for being the slower car, and should have been black flagged for pushing you off at the end of the start finnish straight and again squeezing you out at the end of the back straight.
what a cock, i think i would have crashed there from the tears of laughter

That was brilliant. When I first mucked around on track days, I spent most of the laps looking in the mirror and being ultra nice to people letting them past. That idiot clearly didn't.
Your reaction was quality at him sliding off. I think you could hear metal to metal contact in the video
Edit: Mucked around is the wrong expression really, attended would have been better.

never mind who organised it.....where the hell was snettertons marshalls and race director....they should have had him ejected many laps before he crashed

sorry I can't state who the organisers were due to an agreement about the video I have with them. What I must say though is that the organisers are excellent and what happened has no bearing on them. If anything I should have pulled into the pits after the 'off' and reported the guy but I didn't

Being a convertible driver he would probably enjoy pressure from behind.
What a tool
I understand doing a track day as you cant legally do it on our roads but still it dosnt warrent being a bell end too.

When I think about it, the track marshalls are partly to blame. They decided to omit the blue flag in the briefing, for what reason, I do not know. Bear in mind, this trackday had 600+bhp Time Attack cars running in the group.

Stoner, smoke less weed and you might see that I'm all over him in the corners. Not only that, I caught him up within a lap after he forced us off the track.

what an idiot, i also have never done a track day but from what my friends tell me driving like this would certianly cause accidents good thing he binned it (although i hope he was not hurt cost one thing to loose ya car another to break a bone)
Imagine this guy on the RING, first corner a german 911 woudl just plough straight into himj for not moving out of his way at over 100mph.

had similar situations with this guy who races in clio cup championship whi was 'testing' at a track day at brands hatch.
he just wouldnt get out my way and as you may know brands indy is fairly narrow and there is only the one straight to out power people. Anyway i ws faster through the corners and obviously the straights too having way more power. he wouldnt let me past and just sat on the line even on the straights.
Into the fast chicane section i went up the inside assuming that he had given me way by taking such a SLOW wide entry. so i passed, not really taking into note what he was doing, bare in mind there is plenty of space here!
he came to me in the pits to start a fight with me, saying that im not meant to overtake and that i was only faster on the straights!
i said 'sorry mate you were going so slow on that section i thought u were letting me through, and there was a guy behind me in a porsche who i didnt want going into the back of me for braking to such a slow speed for a fast corner too!'
trackdays are full of nobbers and people who think they are racing drivers..and nobber racing drivers too!
i guess you just have to expect the unexpected and be very very wary at all times!
