E30 Zone

hi yesterday i was going down this SH*TTY bumpy road and all of a sudden my petrol needle just dropped..

now from time to time it decides to be on E pills and go wild, like go up and down really fast, but now it has just dropped

so i have no clue how much petrol i have or when it is going to run out lol

is this commen? and what can i do about having this fixed?

try tightening the nuts on the back of the gauge (they supply power to it and work loose)

might be a dumb question but how do i get to the nuts on the back of the gauge?

Think you need to take the whole cluster out mate, don.t quote me on that though.Have you tried doing a search?.

Yes, remove the gauge cluster and undo the screws on the back to gain access to the gauge/nuts. Probably worth checking the gauge sender wiring under the back seat also before you do that.

Well easy to take out the cluster mate theres a sticky at the top of forum on how to take them out, shouldnt take no more than 15 minutes.
