M40 Lacks acceleration when cold??

Hi Guys,my 316i hesitates to accelerate when cold but is fine when hot,any ideas?Idle control valve??

Certainly not ICV! Coolant temperature sensor for the ECU (blue sensor) is the first thing to try.
Lives just above the join between the block and the head, about half way along , under the inlet manifold. Can be fun just seeing it, let alone changing it! Take the air filter/air meter assembly out to make a bit more room.
