So the first time i adjusted them it didn't fix my problem, a while ago now.
I tried today with some better tools and still not fixed, should i try 0.2 mm?

Whats your problem?... ticking?
If so could be your injectors need a refurb

Think it's the valves since first time yesterday the ticking was almost gone but i wasn't happy so i tried one more time, got alittle louder ;) But it's way better than what it was.
Hm what about 0.23 ;)
Somone say cold and someone say hot, what's right? When hot it need to be adjusted to 0.3 right?

Pull off the horn button in the centre of the steering wheel and place a small ball of 'blu-tak' on the end of the steering column.
You ticking is most likly either a snapped exhaust manifold stud allowing a little gas to escape in a rythmic tapping noise. Or the fuel injectors, which are naturally tappy things i'm afraid. Not really an easy thing to quieten down.
To questions:
1) Is the tapping loudest when cold and accelerating (particularly in second gear)
2) If you hold the engine revs high and then turn off the ignition to let the revs drop does the ticking stop with the ignition?
Cheers
Chris

I don't hear it much in the car.
Think the ticking is the same cold or warm, it follows the rpm, i think the ticking stops right away when i turn the key.

Yep, I refurbed my injectors (or Injectortune did) in an attempt to solve my ticking.
It didn't solve the ticking but the motor pulls like a train

I very much doubt it will do the job anything like properly. Having read the paragraph that starts " Run the car until you have less....", I can't say I'm impressed!!

Brian the fuel pressure drops with the tank level, nothing to do with the pressure regulator

Fuel pressure has nothing whatsoever to do with tank level until it gets so low that the pump draws in air! Fuel rail pressure is whatever the rating of the FPR is with reference to the pressure in the inlet plenum.

Well i was thinking off taking out the fuel pump relay then empty it that way instead of driving the tank empty ;)
So i guess i need to live with it then, can't say i want to spend too much money on a ticking sound i don't hear while the radio is on

I thought exactly the same as you. Then a good cylinder head came up for sale and I though to myself "rebuilding that properly and fitting it should sort out my ticking !"
Be warned, E30s drive you to search for perfection.
Be further warned that you will never find it.......
